Alex Colome allowed a base hit but no runs while earning the save in a 6-3 victory over the Astros on Saturday.

Called on to protect a three run lead in the ninth inning, he retired the first two batters on fly balls before allowing a single to Alex Bregman. He then induced Yuli Gurriel to tap a grounder to the shortstop to end the game. Colome has yet to allow a run or a walk this season. He has a 0.00 ERA with four strikeouts in seven innings of work. He has four saves in four chances.

Twins placed RHP Justin Haley on the 10-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis.

Haley unintentionally played a major role in Saturday's game by hitting JaCoby Jones in the face with a pitch. Tigers starter Matt Boyd retaliated later in the game by throwing at Miguel Sano, which cleared the benches and led to a pair of ejections. Somewhere in between these events, Haley must have injured his biceps. The right-hander holds a 4.15 ERA over five outings for the Twins this year.

Blake Snell allowed a pair of homers but held the Astros to three runs in five innings on Saturday.

He surrendered only three hits on the evening but two of them were of the four-base variety. Evan Gattis and Jose Altuve hit solo jacks off him. Snell also struggled with his control, walking five batters and managing only 39 strikes among his 87 pitches. He struck out four but didn't stick around long enough to be the pitcher of record when the Rays seized the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. The young left-hander owns a 3.38 ERA with 15 strikeouts and 15 walks in 21 1/3 innings. He has two losses and is still looking for his first win of the season.

Evan Longoria went 2-for-4 with two RBI in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

He smacked a long double to center field in the fifth inning that plated Tim Beckham and Corey Dickerson. His other hit was also a double. He has been productive if not stellar so far this season. He owns a .250 batting average with three homers, nine runs and 12 RBI through 19 games.

Tim Beckham went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Astros.

He tripled in the third but was left stranded. He singled and scored in the fifth. He stroked an RBI single in the sixth and came around to score on a Peter Bourjos single. Beckham is getting everyday playing time while Matt Duffy recuperates from injury. He is batting .254/.267/.407 with two home runs, eight runs scored and five RBI in 61 plate appearances.

Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Rays.

He took Blake Snell deep in the fourth inning for his first homer of the season. He will have to pick up the pace if he hopes to match his career high of 24 longballs he hit last season. Altuve is batting .304/.380/.406 with nine runs scored, six RBI and seven stolen bases through 18 games.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Danny Barnes to Triple-A Buffalo.

The Blue Jays badly needed a fresh arm following Friday's 13-inning win over the Angels. Barnes hurled two scoreless innings in that game. Leonel Campos was called up from Buffalo in the corresponding move.

Evan Gattis went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in a loss to the Rays on Saturday.

The home run off Blake Snell was the first round-tripper of the season for Gattis. He added a second RBI on a ground-out in the sixth inning. He has hit well this season in part-time duty despite the lack of power. He owns a .294 batting average with one homer and seven RBI in 34 at-bats.
