Free agent RB Knile Davis worked out for the Jets.

With Matt Forte battling a toe injury, the Jets are taking a look at some backs. Davis was released by the Steelers at final cuts.

Eagles worked out free agent RB Kenjon Barner.

The Eagles need a body with Darren Sproles on injured reserve, and Barner is familiar with the system. Barner would almost certainly be limited to special teams if he ended up back in Philly.

Texans promoted WR/KR Chris Thompson from the practice squad.

An UDFA out of Florida, Thompson will contribute on special teams if he's active for Week 4. Thompson caught one pass in the preseason.

The Florida State Attorney's office has opted not to file charges in Jarvis Landry's domestic battery case.

"I am very thankful that this matter is over and my family and I can put this behind us now," Landry said in a statement. Landy's ex-girlfriend had said he was innocent. As we've learned from the Ezekiel Elliott case, being cleared by the law does not mean Landry is home free with the NFL.

Ty Montgomery (wrist) was upgraded to "full" in Tuesday's practice.

Montgomery's "injury" was never considered serious. Playing nearly every down, Montgomery will be an RB1 for Thursday's game against the Bears.
Sep 26 - 5:13 PM

Randall Cobb (chest) was upgraded to "full" in Tuesday's practice.

It means that, barring a setback, he will return for Thursday night's game against the Bears. Cobb has struggled at less than full heath in the past, so he should be treated as a mid-range WR3 after missing Week 3 against the Bengals. Cobb's return removes Geronimo Allison from sleeper consideration.

Texans waived WR Andy Jones.

It's the second time the Texans have cut Jones in the past few weeks. His latest release means Will Fuller (collarbone) could be returning for Week 4.
Sep 26 - 5:07 PM

Orleans Darkwa (back) expects to be ready for Sunday's game against the Bucs.

It's good news for the Giants, as Darkwa has been pushing for more work behind an ineffective Paul Perkins. Nevertheless, with both his role and now health uncertain, Darkwa isn't on the Week 4 fantasy radar.
