David Peralta went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two RBI, and a run scored as the Diamondbacks defeated the Mariners 8-4 on Tuesday.

Peralta gave the D'Backs an early 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning. He tacked on an RBI double in the third, and scored after singling in the sixth. He walked and stole second base in the seventh but was stranded. Peralta has put up great numbers this season, batting .278/.352/.495 with nine home runs and 45 RBI.

Brett Gardner and his Yankees teammates took it to the Rangers on Tuesday, with the outfielder going 3-for-4 with a homer, three RBI and five runs scored in the 21-5 rout.

Gardner walked three times to go with his three hits, reaching base in six of his seven plate appearances on the night. The 31-year-old scored runs in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings before adding a two-run homer for good measure in the ninth. Gardner is batting .297/.379/.471 with 11 homers, 46 RBI, 15 steals and 72 runs scored, second-most in the American League.

Ender Inciarte had an RBI single and a solo home run in five at-bats Tuesday as the Diamondbacks ousted the Mariners.

Inciarte drilled a solo home run to right field off of Hisashi Iwakuma in the fifth inning, extending the Diamondbacks' lead to 3-1. In the eighth, he hit an RBI single to make it an 8-3 game. Inciarte has been swinging a hot bat since coming off of the disabled list, batting .348 (16-for-46) in 11 games. Overall, he carries a .296/.323/.397 line with three home runs, 26 RBI, 41 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases.

Mike Zunino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Zunino cut into the Diamondbacks' 2-0 lead with a solo home run off of Zack Godley in the third inning, registering his first round-tripper in the month of July. He's hitting a meager .181/.240/.319 with 10 home runs and 26 RBI.

Nelson Cruz hit a solo home run in a 1-for-4 effort as the Mariners dropped Tuesday's game to the Diamondbacks.

The Mariners had fallen behind 6-1 after the top of the sixth when Cruz got one back with a solo shot off of Zack Godley in the bottom half. It's his fifth home run in his last eight games, giving him 26 on the season with 61 RBI and a .309/.375/.559 batting line.

Zack Godley won again in his second major league start, allowing three runs in six innings on Tuesday against the Mariners.

Godley allowed a pair of solo home runs to Mike Zunino and Nelson Cruz to account for most of the damage. He gave up seven hits and three walks overall while striking out four. The 25-year-old will try to make it three in a row in a road start against the Nationals next.

Hisashi Iwakuma served up six runs to the Diamondbacks in 5 2/3 innings, leaving with a loss on Tuesday.

Iwakuma was on a roll entering Tuesday's outing, with three quality outings in a row. But the D'Backs weren't impressed, pounding out 10 hits against the right-hander. He also walked one and struck out five as he watched his ERA balloon to 5.10. Iwakuma will try to right his ship when he takes the mound against the Twins in Minnesota.

Chris Young had a monster game Tuesday, finishing 3-for-6 with a grand slam, five RBI and four runs scored against the Rangers.

Young came up with the bases loaded in the third inning and took Wandy Rodriguez deep for his 12th homer of the year. The grand slam was his second of the season. Young also had an RBI double in the sixth, his second double of the game. The 31-year-old is hitting .263/.315/.491 overall.
