Jose Trevino hit a two-run bloop single in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday to win it 13-12 against Colorado.

Trevino has appeared in just three major league games so far, but he is making a name for himself. He delivered a game-tying knock on Saturday and won it for the Rangers on Sunday. If he keeps up these late-game heroics he could start chipping into the playing time of veteran Robinson Chirinos, who is limping along with a .194/.307/.382 slash line.
Jun 17 - 8:35 PM

Robinson Chirinos was hitless in two at-bats with two strikeouts and a run scored Sunday against the Rockies.

Chirinos was back in the starting lineup after missing two games, one due to suspension and another due to body soreness. His absence has allowed Jose Trevino a chance to show what he can do and he is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Chirinos is slashing just .194/.307/.382 and needs to get going or risk losing playing time to his young understudy.
Jun 17 - 8:32 PM

Nomar Mazara (wrist) returned to the starting lineup Sunday against the Rockies and he finished 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI.

Mazara was scratched from the lineup on Friday and he did not play Saturday due to a sore left wrist. The injury was not hindering him in the interleague series finale, as he was sharp at the dish. Feel free to plug him back into the active lineup for the new week since he showed no ill-effects of the injury.
Jun 17 - 8:29 PM

Jurickson Profar finished 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 13-12 victory against the Rockies.

Profar has hit safely in five straight and 14 of his past 17 outings. He has also been quite the run producer lately, picking up two doubles, five homers and 14 RBI in 14 games during the month of June. That comes on the heels of a 19-RBI month in May. He still isn't hitting for high average, but Profar has really endeared himself to fantasy owners in the homers and RBI departments.
Jun 17 - 8:26 PM

Yovani Gallardo allowed five earned runs, six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Rockies.

Gallardo threw just 55 of his 98 pitches for strikes, including first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 24 batters he faced. It was Gallardo's first start since coming over from the Reds. He just hasn't been very effective in his four appearances this season, turning in just three scoreless frames in 7 1/3 scoreless innings. He is tentatively penciled in for Saturday afternoon in Minnesota but he has a long way to go before fantasy owners can trust him again.
Jun 17 - 8:19 PM

Wade Davis allowed four earned runs, two hits and four walks while retiring just one batter in Sunday's blown save and loss in Texas.

Davis was given a three-run cushion in the top of the ninth inning after a Trevor Story two-run homer but the closer was unable to take advantage. Davis was all over the place, throwing just 15 of his 38 pitches for strikes, including zero first-pitch strikes to the seven batters he faced. He has logged 20 saves through 24 chances, but he has blown his past two opportunities and he is 0-2 with a 15.43 ERA in six June appearances. He still isn't likely skating on thin ice, but he'll need to pull it together soon.
Jun 17 - 8:15 PM

Ian Desmond went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's series finale in Texas.

Desmond certainly enjoyed his stay in Arlington, going 6-for-13 with two homers, three runs scored and three RBI in the three-game interleague set to raise his average above the Mendoza line from .195 to .209. He still has a ways to go in the average department before pleasing his fantasy owners, but his average is at the highest it has been since April 12 when he was hitting .213. The upward ascension is nice, and at least he has been providing some nice power along the way.
Jun 17 - 8:09 PM

Gerardo Parra went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, a run scored and four RBI in Sunday's 13-12 setback in Texas.

The left-handed hitting Venezuelan slugger enjoyed a solid May, hitting .329 with five doubles, two homers and 11 RBI. He is on pace to have an even more productive June, going 18-for-49 (.367) with three doubles and 11 RBI in just 14 games. While he hasn't had a homer in 21 outings dating back to May 21 in Los Angeles, that's about the only thing fantasy owners can carp about.
