Matt Wieters will catch 4-5 innings in an extended spring training game on Monday.

Wieters was behind the plate Friday as well. The 28-year-old is working his way back from Tommy John surgery. In addition to being one of the better defensive catchers in baseball, Wieters is an above average power hitter when healthy. Caleb Joseph will return to backup duty when Wieters returns sometime in May.

Rajai Davis went 2-for-4 and swiped three bases on Saturday as the Tigers topped the Indians 4-1 at Comerica Park.

Davis was the spark plug atop the Tigers lineup, running wild every chance that he got and scoring three of the team's four runs in the ballgame. He's off to another strong start in 2015, slashing .297/.409/.405 with six steals on the season.
Apr 25 - 4:19 PM

Joakim Soria worked a perfect ninth innong on Saturday, preserving a one-run advantage to earn his sixth save of the season.

Soria struck out one in his inning of work. He has been mighty impressive thus far for the Tigers, posting a 1.17 ERA, 0.26 WHIP and 5/0 K/BB mark through his first 7 2/3 innings of work. Locked into his role for the remainder of the season, Soria should remain among the elite ranks at closer so long as he remains healthy.
Apr 25 - 4:17 PM

Alfredo Simon won his fourth consecutive start on Saturday, allowing just one run on six hits over 6 2/3 innings against the Indians.

Simon punched out three and walked a pair on the afternoon. The only blemish on his day was an RBI single by Michael Brantley in the third inning. He has been quite the find for the Tigers thus far, registering a 1.65 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings. He'll look to extend that dominance when he takes on the Royals in Kansas City on Thursday.
Apr 25 - 4:14 PM

T.J. House struggled in his spot start against the Tigers on Saturday, surrendering three runs on four hits over his three innings of work.

House struck out three and walked four on the afternoon. He had his start pushed up a day at the last minute when Trevor Bauer was unable to pitch due to illness on Saturday. After an impressive 2014 season, House has really struggled early in the 2015 campaign, registering a 12.60 ERA and 2.60 WHIP across his first 10 innings. He'll look to turn things around on Thursday against the Blue Jays provided he remains in the Tribe's rotation.
Apr 25 - 4:09 PM

Nick Markakis is hitting leadoff for the Braves on Saturday.

With Eric Yuong Jr. struggling, the Braves are looking for a spark atop their lineup. Markakis had success in that same role with the Orioles, and his fantasy value sees a nice boost with the premium spot in the lineup.
Apr 25 - 3:47 PM

Christian Bethancourt is once again not in the Braves starting lineup on Saturday.

It's unclear if Fredi Gonzalez is simply riding the hot hand in A.J. Pierzynski, or if he has surpassed Bethancourt as the team's primary catcher. Bethancourt has only started one game this week.
Apr 25 - 3:45 PM

Alex Colome (illness) is slated to make one more minor league rehab start before rejoining the Rays rotation.

He can't get back soon enough as the Rays are currently dealing with trotting out the likes of Erasmo Ramirez every fifth day. With Alex Cobb working his way back, Colome's time in the rotation could also be short lived.
