Trevor Plouffe (knee) is out of the Twins' starting lineup again on Monday afternoon.

The third baseman has some minor knee soreness, but Twins manager Paul Molitor said Plouffe should be available to come off the bench. Eduardo Nunez is starting at the hot corner and batting leadoff versus the A's.

Rockies OF prospect David Dahl tied a career-high with four hits Sunday in a win for Double-A Hartford.

It was his sixth career four-hit game. Dahl has exploded over his last 10 games, hitting .405 with two homers, two steals and 11 RBI. The 22-year-old is now second in the Eastern League with 11 homers. He's also third in doubles (15), fifth in runs (36), fifth in RBI (34) and tied for seventh in steals (13). Kyle Gibson (shoulder) is scheduled to return from the disabled list to start Saturday versus the Rays.

Gibson allowed just one run and struck out eight batters over 9 1/3 innings in his two-game minor league rehab stint with High-A Fort Myers. But the right-hander will return Thursday to an unsightly 6.10 ERA and he remains a risky fantasy play in any matchup. Phil Hughes is headed to the bullpen to clear a rotation spot.

Phil Hughes has been moved to the bullpen.

His rough start Saturday against the Mariners was apparently the final straw. Hughes gave up four earned runs on nine hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings versus Seattle. Kyle Gibson (shoulder) will come off the disabled list Thursday and start against the Rays.

Mariners RHP prospect Nick Neidert let up just one hit over five scoreless frames Sunday in a no-decision for Low-A Clinton.

He retired 12 hitters in a row after allowing a leadoff double in the first inning. Neidert struck out three and walked one in his second start of 2016, cutting his ERA from 1.80 to 0.90 in the process. The 2015 second-round pick spent the early part of the season in extended spring training. Opponents have hit just .143 against Neidert in 35 at-bats this year.

Evan Gattis is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Monday afternoon against the Diamondbacks.

The game is being played at Chase Field under National League rules, so Gattis can't DH. Tyler White is starting at catcher and Jason Castro will be behind the plate.

Stephen Piscotty has been scratched from the Cardinals' lineup Monday due to food poisoning.

He was supposed to start in right field and bat cleanup in the series opener against Brewers right-hander Junior Guerra. Brandon Moss is now starting in right and batting fifth, with Matt Adams at cleanup.

Nolan Arenado is getting the day off Monday.

Daniel Descalso will start at third base and bat seventh in the afternoon game against Reds right-hander Dan Straily. Arenado went 0-for-3 on Sunday versus the Giants but still managed to collect his 39th RBI.
