Devon Travis hit a leadoff home run in a 1-for-2 effort before leaving Tuesday's loss to the Phillies with a left shoulder injury.

Travis was batting leadoff following the departure of shortstop Jose Reyes in the Troy Tulowitzki trade. He greeted Adam Morgan rudely with a home run to lead off the game. He struck out to end the second inning before leaving the game with a left shoulder injury, likely a reaggravation of the issue which forced him to the disabled list for five weeks earlier this season. Travis has otherwise had a great season, batting .304/.361/.498 with eight home runs and 35 RBI.

Rays activated SS Asdrubal Cabrera from the 15-day disabled list.

Cabrera missed just one day more than the minimum with a strained right hamstring. He's hitting .223/.275/.352 for the Rays this season.

Adam Morgan won on Tuesday when he held the Blue Jays to two runs in six innings.

It didn't look like it would be a good night for Morgan, as he allowed a solo home run to Devon Travis to lead off the game. But he allowed only a sacrifice fly in the second inning and otherwise kept the Jays off the board. Morgan gave up five hits and a pair of walks while striking out two. Not much of a fantasy performer, he has a 4.05 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and a 20/10 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings. He'll test his mettle at home against the Braves next.

Jose Bautista (hamstring) said after Tuesday's game that he's just dealing with a cramp and expects to play Wednesday.

Bautista had to be lifted after pulling up while running out a groundball. It remains to be seen whether the Blue Jays are as optimistic as the outfielder is, but it does appear he's avoided a serious injury.

Felix Doubront lasted only four innings, allowing three runs as the Blue Jays were defeated on Tuesday by the Phillies.

All three runs came in the fifth inning, as the Phillies used an infield single and three doubles to plate two runs and chase Doubront out of the game. The lefty gave up six hits and a pair of walks while striking out three. Doubront has made only four starts this season, but only one of them was passable. He has a 4.76 ERA, a 1.63 WHIP, and a 13/5 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings. He will take on the Royals at home in his next outing.

Mookie Betts is being evaluated for a possible concussion after leaving Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

Betts made a catch on Jose Abreu's deep drive to right-center field but then fell over the bullpen wall and landed on his neck/head area. He seemed fine initially but was then removed. The play was eventually ruled a home run after replay.

Ken Giles, in his new role as the Phillies' closer, pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Tuesday's victory versus the Blue Jays to pick up his first save of the season.

Giles allowed a leadoff single to Edwin Encarnacion, but got Chris Colabello to fly out, Russell Martin to line out, and Danny Valencia to ground out in an otherwise easy ninth inning. Jonathan Papelbon was traded prior to the start of Tuesday's game. As a result, Giles will function as the Phillies' regular closer going forward and should be owned in all formats. He has the potential to be an elite closer, though he won't see many save opportunities for the Phillies, baseball's worst team by record. Having functioned as Papelbon's setup man for the bulk of the season, Giles owns a 1.81 ERA and a 54/20 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings.

Curtis Granderson had a two-run home run and a single in a 2-for-4 effort as the Mets shut out the Padres 4-0 on Tuesday.

Granderson added insurance when he took reliever Shawn Kelly yard in the eighth inning, doubling the Mets' lead. Though his bat has cooled off a bit in July, the outfielder has turned in a solid year despite carrying a .682 OPS through the end of April. Granderson is batting .253/.346/.431 with 15 home runs and 33 RBI to date.
