C.J. Wilson - S - Angels

C.J. Wilson combined with Scott Downs and Ernesto Frieri on a two-hitter Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mariners.

Wilson allowed both hits -- singles off the bats of Kyle Seager and Kendrys Morales -- before Downs and Frieri finished up with perfect frames. Three of Wilson's six wins this season have come at Seattle's expense, and he's now 14-5 with a 3.55 ERA lifetime against the Mariners.

Joe Saunders - S - Mariners

Joe Saunders took a complete-game loss after giving up one run in eight innings against the Angels on Wednesday.

The lone run to score off him did so on a wild pitch. This makes five straight quality starts for Saunders, though he has a 2-2 record to show for it. Overall, he's 5-7 with a 4.48 ERA. Next up for him is a favorable home start against the Pirates.

Nelson Cruz - OF - Rangers

Nelson Cruz went 3-for-5 with two RBI as the Rangers beat the A's 9-4 on Wednesday.

The outfielder recorded three singles on the evening, raising his line to .270/.333/.527 in 69 games. The runs batted in gave him 50 on the season to go with 18 home runs. He's having a terrific season in his walk year, and it could lead to a big payday come winter.

Michael Saunders - OF - Mariners

Michael Saunders went hitless in Wednesday's loss and is hitting .200 with just one extra-base hit and one RBI this month.

This after he hit .187 in May. Saunders is very fortunate to still have a starting job, and as much as the Mariners want him to succeed, it's quite possible he'll lose it soon.

Chris Young - OF - Athletics

Chris Young went 2-for-5 with a home run as the A's lost to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Young hit a three-run homer, his seventh of the year, to account for all three RBI. He batted leadoff for just the third time this season with Coco Crisp out, but he'll likely drop lower in the lineup when Crisp returns. Young is hitting just .192/.275/.378 this season.

Justin Grimm - S - Rangers

Justin Grimm allowed three runs over five innings to pick up the win against the A's on Wednesday.

Grimm followed up his longest outing of the year with one of the shorter ones, throwing just 75 pitches over the five innings before being pulled. It was still enough to get him his sixth win, as he held the A's to just three hits and three walks. His next start will come Tuesday against the Yankees in New York.

Tommy Milone - S - Athletics

Tommy Milone allowed six runs in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Nothing went right for Milone on Wednesday. The left-hander allowed eight hits and a walk while striking out just one on the evening. It was more of a death by papercuts than anything, though, as only one of the eight hits went for extra bases. He'll go again Tuesday against the Reds.

Brandon Phillips - 2B - Reds

Brandon Phillips hit a walk-off single in the 13th inning to give the Reds a 2-1 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Phillips has struggled of late, as he's just 12-for-59 (.203) in June, and he was struggling again on Wednesday before the single in the 13th inning. The slump has dropped his average on the season to .272. Maybe Wednesday's heroics will ignite his bat once again.
