Vincent Brown (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9.

Brown suffered a setback with his hamstring last week and will miss his fourth straight game. The Raiders will continue to go with Kenbrell Thompkins behind Andre Holmes and James Jones.

Buccaneers promoted KR/WR Marcus Thigpen from their practice squad.

He will take injured Trindon Holliday's place as the Bucs' kick returner.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin isn't sure whether Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle, hamstring) will play Monday night against the Colts.

Coughlin "simply laughed" when asked if he could game plan with the notion in mind that DRC will play. DRC only played 15 snaps in the Giants' Week 7 game against the Cowboys, and didn't get back to 100 percent after the Week 8 bye. If Rodgers-Cromartie can't go against Indianapolis, T.Y. Hilton and to a lesser extent Donte Moncrief's matchups would get fantasy boosts.

ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett to "return to some form of timeshare" when Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas return from their injuries.

Robinson and Thomas have missed each of New Orleans' last two games, creating a perfect storm for Mark Ingram. Coach Sean Payton was asked following Thursday night's win over Carolina whether Ingram has earned a larger share. "Listen, he certainly is," said Payton. "Yet the key is just the durability. But he's been outstanding. I think that Sunday and then what he did last night, those are a lot of touches. And so we're gonna have to, as we get guys healthy, break those up. And yet to his credit, he's handled that workload."

ESPN's Adam Caplan reports the Bucs are expected to activate rookie Charles Sims from the injured reserve-designated for return list by 4pm ET on Saturday.

The Bucs' third-round pick is expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Browns, but his role remains unclear. The Tampa coaching staff likely hasn't even decided fully yet. Expect Bobby Rainey to get the start, and Sims to be eased in. That would be the conservative projection, of course. There is an outside chance Sims could become a useful flex play by as early as Week 10 against Atlanta. He should be rostered in leagues of all sizes.

Kenbrell Thompkins (personal) returned to practice Friday and is listed as probable for Week 9 at Seattle.

Thompkins has emerged as Oakland's No. 3 receiver behind Andre Holmes and James Jones. He will likely run a lot of routes at Richard Sherman on Sunday.
Oct 31 - 4:02 PM

Raiders CB Carlos Rogers (knee) is listed as doubtful for Week 9.

Rogers covers the slot in nickel. It's an upgrade to Doug Baldwin's matchup.
Oct 31 - 3:56 PM

Alfred Blue (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 9.

He's ready to go as Arian Foster's caddie against the Eagles.
