Mariners manager Scott Servais said Sunday that it's doubtful he'll start Nelson Cruz in right field for any of the club's three games in Atlanta this week.

Cruz has been lobbying to play, but it appears that he'll be limited to pinch-hitting duty for a few days. The slugger has played only four games in the outfield this season.

It appears to be a simple day off. Matt Joyce is in left field and Chad Pinder is in right.

Cubs optioned LHP Rob Zastryzny to Triple-A Iowa.

Zastryzny was only up for a couple days and didn't make an appearance. He'll return to a 6.57 ERA at Iowa.

Cubs activated RHP Koji Uehara from the 10-day disabled list.

Uehara missed the last week and a half with a strained neck. He'll return to a setup role.

Miguel Sano (shin) is not in the Twins' lineup Sunday.

Sano departed Saturday's game with left shin soreness. He's considered day-to-day. Ehire Adrianza is covering third base. Joe Mauer is getting a day off Sunday, as Mitch Garver is at first base.

Grant Dayton will receive a second opinion after initial scans on his left elbow came back unclear.

Dayton was coming back from a neck injury when his pitching elbow started barking. Obviously, more will be known about his status following a second exam.

Chris Davis (illness) is back in the Orioles' lineup Sunday.

Davis missed the last two games with an illness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go Sunday. He's at first base and batting seventh against Parker Bridwell and the Angels.

Drew Pomeranz (back) is expected to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Pomeranz was lifted from his start last Friday due to back spasms, but he's responded well to treatment the last few days. He'll throw a bullpen session Monday before officially being cleared for Wednesday if all goes well.
