Michael Brantley (back) went 1-for-3 in his return to the Indians lineup on Sunday.

The 27-year-old outfielder had been sidelined for the previous week with back tightness. The team believes that it won't be a recurring issue though and Brantley should be fully healthy and ready to go for Opening Day. While he is unlikely to repeat the gaudy numbers he posted in his breakout 2014 campaign, Brantley still represents one of the best five-category contributors in the league.

T.J. House struggled in Sunday's Cactus League loss to the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits over six frames.

The 25-year-old southpaw punched out four and walked two on the afternoon. Recently named as the fifth starter in the Tribe's Opening Day rotation, it probably wasn't the type of outing that House had in mind to cement his spot. House now sports a 5.70 ERA and 19/5 K/BB ratio over 23 2/3 innings on the spring.

Travis Ishikawa was removed from Sunday's Cactus League contest due to back tightness.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said afterwards that Ishikawa's back flared up during the game. He'll be re-evaluated on Monday. The injury appears to be minor and shouldn't affect his status for the start of the regular season.

Brewers released RHP Chris Perez.

The former closer was in camp as a non-roster invitee and attempting to earn a spot in the team's bullpen. With the team granting his unconditional release with a week remaining in camp, it gives Perez an opportunity to find a bullpen job elsewhere.

Padres manager Bud Black admitted Sunday that Wil Myers has been taking some ground balls at first base during morning drills.

It's very limited exposure to the position, but he could be an emergency option there at some point during the season. With a loaded outfield that doesn't have room for Will Venable and Cameron Maybin to play regularly, if Myers can show capable at the position it just gives Black one more moving piece to work with.

Matt Cain allowed three runs in four innings as the Giants won 11-9 over the Dodgers on Sunday.

The Dodgers scored once in the first inning on a Yasiel Puig RBI double and twice in the third inning on a Joc Pederson solo home run and Yasmani Grandal RBI double. Cain gave up six hits and a walk while striking out three overall. Cain has now allowed seven runs in 7 2/3 spring innings, but the Giants are simply happy he's healthy, as he is trying to bounce back from elbow surgery.
Mar 29 - 8:04 PM

Enrique Hernandez hit a three-run home run in one of his four at-bats against the Giants on Sunday.

His eighth-inning three-run blast brought the Dodgers to within one run at 9-8 in the eighth inning against George Kontos. Hernandez is not particularly known for his home run potential, but has five so far this spring along but he's only hitting .250 (13-for-52). Hernandez's versatility could be the deciding factor if he ends up on the Dodgers' 25-man roster.
Mar 29 - 8:02 PM

Joc Pederson hit his sixth Cactus League home run on Sunday, finishing 2-for-3 against the Giants.

Pederson reduced the Dodgers' deficit to 3-2 with a third-inning solo home run to right field off of Matt Cain. If not for Kris Bryant, Pederson would likely be the toast of baseball so far this spring as he prepares to take over center field for the Dodgers. Along with the six spring blasts, Pederson is hitting .389 (21-for-54) with 12 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
