Adrian Gonzalez homered and walked in five plate appearances on Monday as the Dodgers topped the Phillies.

Gonzalez made it a 2-0 game with a solo home run off of Sean O'Sullivan in the first inning. It's his third home run in five July games, giving him 16 on the season with 51 RBI and a .291/.368/.526 batting line. It was announced on Monday that Gonzalez made the National League's 2015 All-Star Game roster as a reserve.

Howie Kendrick went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored as the Dodgers outlasted the Phillies for a win on Monday.

It's his third four-hit game in his last 10 games. He tripled in the first inning and scored the Dodgers' first run, then led off the fifth inning and came around to score on Yasmani Grandal's three-run home run. He added an RBI single in the sixth, finishing a home run short of the cycle. Kendrick is hitting .300/.349/.432 with seven home runs, 37 RBI, and 40 runs scored on the year.

Hisashi Iwakuma, making his first start since April 20, yielded five runs in five innings in Monday's 12-5 loss to the Tigers.

The first four runs each came as a result of a solo home run, hit by Nick Castellanos, Victor Martinez, J.D. Martinez, and Yoenis Cespedes. Iwakuma allowed a single after the Cespedes home run in the sixth inning before departing. All told, he gave up eight hits, walked none, and struck out three. He now has a 7.17 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and a 14/3 K/BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings across four starts. Iwakuma will try to stabilize in his final start before the All-Star break, at home against the Angels.

Yoenis Cespedes went 2-for-5 with a solo home run as the Tigers topped the Mariners on Monday.

Cespedes drilled a solo home run to left-center off of Hisashi Iwakuma in what turned out to be a five-run sixth inning. The outfielder was unveiled as a finalist on the American League side of the Final Vote for the All-Star Game. He's batting .294/.322/.488 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI.

Alfredo Simon continued to struggle but lucked out with a win on Monday, allowing five runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Mariners,

Simon allowed two runs on a run-scoring triple and a run-scoring double, hit consecutively in the fourth inning. He then served up a three-run home run to Logan Morrison in the fifth. Overall, he surrendered eight hits and three walks while striking out four. Simon has been abysmal over his last four starts, sporting a 10.18 ERA. On the season, the right-hander has a 4.18 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and a 74/33 K/BB ratio in 97 innings. He matches up with the Twins in Minnesota next.

Logan Morrison went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run as the Mariners dropped Monday's contest against the Tigers.

Morrison's three-run blast off of Alfredo Simon in the fifth inning gave the Mariners a 5-3 lead, but it didn't last long. The first baseman has been subpar at the dish this year considering his position, as he is hitting .236/.308/.392 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI.

J.D. Martinez hit his 24th home run of the season, setting a new career high and helping the Tigers bash their way to a win against the Mariners on Monday.

Martinez went back-to-back with Victor Martinez in the fourth inning and finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored on the evening. He has hit consecutively in seven games, homered in three consecutive games, and has homered 11 times in his last 13 games. Named an AL All-Star on Monday, Martinez is batting .290/.344/.573 with 24 home runs and 58 RBI this season.

Victor Martinez homered and scored three runs in a 4-for-5 effort in Monday's win over the Mariners.

Martinez hit the first of back-to-back home runs with J.D. Martinez in the fourth inning, a solo home run off of Hisashi Iwakuma. Since returning from the disabled list on June 19, Martinez is batting .338 (24-for-71). Overall, he's hitting .264/.332/.363 with three home runs and 27 RBI.
