Eric Young Jr. - OF - Mets

Eric Young, Jr. will bat leadoff and start in center field in his Mets' debut Wednesday against the Braves.

Young was acquired from the Rockies on Tuesday night in exchange for right-hander Collin McHugh. The 28-year-old was batting just .242/.290/.352 with the Rockies this season, but he has plenty of speed and could receive regular playing time in the Mets' outfield. He's someone to keep in mind if you need stolen bases in deeper mixed formats.

Santiago Casilla - R - Giants

Santiago Casilla (knee) will throw a bullpen session Thursday.

It will be his first since he had a cyst removed from his right knee last month. While Casilla was originally expected to be out until the second half of the season, it appears he could rejoin the Giants' bullpen prior to the All-Star break.

Jason Heyward is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Mets.

Heyward played both games in Tuesday's doubleheader, so he'll get a breather. Jordan Schafer is making the start in right field Wednesday.

Anthony Rizzo is back in Wednesday's lineup against the Cardinals.

The struggling first baseman was given the day off Tuesday. Rizzo is batting just .157 this month and hasn't homered since May 18.

Kohl Stewart - S - Twins

Twins agreed to terms with first-round pick RHP Kohl Stewart.

Jim Callis of Baseball America reports that Stewart will receive $4,544,400, which matches the assigned value for the No. 4 overall pick. An 18-year-old right-hander out of Houston's St. Pius X High School, Stewart is highly-regarded for his mid-90s fastball and power-slider.

Shin-Soo Choo - OF - Reds

Shin-Soo Choo will bat second Wednesday against the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Derrick Robinson will bat leadoff against left-hander Jeff Locke. It's worth noting that Reds manager Dusty Baker had the same arrangement last week when southpaw Travis Wood was on the hill for the Cubs.

Pablo Sandoval - 3B - Giants

Pablo Sandoval (foot) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with High-A San Jose.

It was previously reported that he would begin his rehab assignment on Friday, but it will actually start one day later. Either way, he could be activated from the disabled list when the Giants begin a three-game series in Los Angeles on Monday.

James Darnell - OF - Padres

Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Padres have requested release waivers on James Darnell.

Darnell, who was designated for assignment last week, will be released if he isn't claimed in the next 48 hours. The 26-year-old is done for the season due to a left shoulder injury and could require another surgery.
