Kyle Seager went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a solo home run, and three runs scored on Monday as the Mariners outlasted the Rockies.

Seager hit the first of back-to-back home runs with Nelson Cruz. He also scored runs in the first and seventh innings. The third baseman had been in a slump, batting .133 (4-for-30) in his previous seven games. Seager's numbers on the season are solid, hitting .270/.329/.447 with 16 home runs and 44 RBI.

Nelson Cruz went 3-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run as the Mariners narrowly escaped with a win against the Rockies on Monday.

Cruz went back-to-back with Kyle Seager in the second inning, extending the Mariners' lead to 6-1. It's his 30th homer of the year, marking only the third time he's crossed the 30-homer threshold in 11 big league seasons. (He's hit 29 twice, though.) Cruz has also knocked in 66 runs while hitting .321/.385/.590.

Brad Boxberger worked out of trouble to earn his 27th save as the Rays beat the White Sox 5-4 on Monday.

Boxberger allowed a leadoff single to Alexei Ramirez, who promptly stole second base. Adam LaRoche then hit a single to center field, but Ramirez was thrown out. Avisail Garcia then struck out, and Carlos Sanchez lined out to end the game. Boxberger moves to 27-for-29 in save chances with a 56/21 K/BB ratio in 43 2/3 innings on the season.

Jose Quintana held the Rays to two runs in six innings, but took a no-decision as the White Sox lost late on Monday.

Quintana allowed an RBI double in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the fifth, accounting for the damage. He scattered seven hits and a walk while striking out seven, but the White Sox wouldn't score until he was out of the game. Despite having only six wins, Quintana has a solid 3.50 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 123/29 K/BB ratio over 141 1/3 innings. He will face the tough Royals on the road in his next start.

Nate Karns pitched well, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings, but got a no-decision as the Rays rallied late to overcome the White Sox on Monday.

Karns was working on a shutout until Jose Abreu bashed a two-run home run in the sixth inning, chasing the right-hander from the game. He gave up only three hits and a pair of walks while striking out seven. Karns has limited the opposition to two or fewer runs in 16 of 21 starts, resulting in a 3.37 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, and a 113/42 K/BB ratio over 120 1/3 innings. He'll do battle with the Mets at home next.

Lonnie Chisenhall left Monday's game against the Angels due to a cervical strain.

It's a fancy way of saying he had whiplash, which he suffered after making a diving attempt in right field. Consider Chisenhall day-to-day.
