Josh Harrison is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Tigers.

He's likely just getting a breather. Jung Ho Kang will start at third base while Francisco Cervelli serves at the DH and Chris Stewart starts behind the plate.

Gregory Polanco will bat leadoff Tuesday against the Tigers.

Polanco took a seat Sunday against Braves left-hander Alex Wood, but he's back in there against right-hander Justin Verlander. The 23-year-old owns a .691 OPS against right-handers this season compared to a .301 OPS vs. southpaws.

Twins pitching prospect Taylor Rogers tossed seven innings of three-hit ball Monday in a win for Triple-A Rochester.

Monday's effort was a continuation of a game that began on June 5 but was suspended by rain. The left-hander is now 2-0 with a 2.63 ERA in four against Pawtucket this season. He's pitched at least seven innings in six of his last seven appearances. Rogers leads the International League with 103 1/3 innings pitched this season.

Yunel Escobar is in Tuesday's lineup against the Braves.

Escobar missed back-to-back games after he was hit on the hand by a pitch on Friday, but he was able to return for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader. The Nationals are surely hoping that he's feeling even better after Monday's scheduled off-day.
Jun 30 - 3:40 PM

Denard Span is in Tuesday's lineup against the Braves.

Like Bryce Harper, Span sat out the second game of Sunday's doubleheader. The veteran outfielder has been dealing with a nagging back issue of late, but he's good to go.

Bryce Harper is in Tuesday's lineup against the Braves.

Harper returned from his right hamstring strain in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, but sat out the second game. He'll hit cleanup Tuesday against Shelby Miller.

Athletics recalled RHP Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville.

The A's have yet to announce a corresponding roster move. Bassitt will start against the Rockies on Tuesday in place of Sonny Gray, who was scratched due to illness. The 26-year-old has posted a 3.71 ERA and 64/18 K/BB ratio over 63 innings this season in Triple-A.
Jun 30 - 3:32 PM

Marlins activated RHP Bryan Morris from the 15-day disabled list.

The Marlins sent down Justin Nicolino to clear a spot for him on the active roster. Morris has been sidelined since June 6 with a lower back strain. He had a 3.95 ERA and 24/12 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings prior to hitting the DL.
