Panthers placed RE Greg Hardy on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list.
Antonio Gates (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
It's just a maintenance day. Gates is a low-end TE1 for Sunday's matchup with Buffalo.
Rookie TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (foot) has been ruled out for Week 3.
Seferian-Jenkins will miss his second straight game due to his ankle injury. Brandon Myers will remain an every-down tight end in his absence.
Chiefs RB/WR De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) is practicing Wednesday.
Thomas is expected to make his debut this week after missing the first two games. He'll be the primary return man, and could see change-of-pace work behind Knile Davis.
Toby Gerhart (ankle) missed practice Wednesday.
Gerhart is simply getting a rest day after hurting his ankle in the opener and running into walls of defenders last week against the Redskins. We can't trust him as anymore than a FLEX option for Week 3, even against a weak Colts defense. The Jacksonville offensive line can't pass protect or run block.
Browns coach Mike Pettine doesn't expect Ben Tate (knee) to play this week.
Tate was never expected to play and is targeting a Week 5 return. Terrance West is locked in as an RB2/3 for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Jordan Cameron (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
It's an improvement from last week, when Cameron didn't practice at all. Cameron remains questionable for Week 3, but is now on track to return for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.
DeSean Jackson (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.
Jackson's shoulder injury isn't expected to keep him out of Week 3. His practice status will be updated again on Thursday.
