Dan Herron rushed nine times for 25 yards in Saturday's preseason game, adding a 10-yard reception.
Herron started and carried the mail as the Colts rested Frank Gore. Herron is locked in as Gore's backup, but his work could be sporadic, as Gore has a three-down skill-set. Herron is an excellent handcuff, but not a standalone option in fantasy leagues.
Buck Allen rushed 12 times for 24 yards in the Ravens' third preseason game.
He added one catch for five yards. Like the rest of the Ravens' running backs, Forsett struggled to find running room against the Redskins. He also committed a costly fumble on the goal line with less than ten seconds left in the first half. Allen now has 29 carries for 78 yards (2.69 YPC) this preseason. With Lorenzo Taliaferro (knee) sidelined, Allen will open the season as Justin Forsett's backup.
Frank Gore was held out of Saturday's preseason game.
The Colts refused to risk Gore's health this summer, giving him just two exhibition touches. Boom Herron should get some run in passing situations, but Gore won't be just an early-down back this season. He's an RB1 darkhorse.
Peyton Manning completed 14-of-21 passes for 124 yards and an interception in the Broncos' third preseason game.
Manning was efficient, but he fluttered a few passes across the middle and underthrew Demaryius Thomas on two sideline passes near the end zone. The second of those underthrows was intercepted. Manning has completed 22-of-35 passes for 176 yards (5.02 YPA) this preseason. He is a high-end QB1.
Benny Cunningham rushed five times for five yards in Saturday's preseason game, adding two catches for an additional 32 yards.
Cunningham was thrust into bell-cow duties after Tre Mason injured his hamstring. He was ineffective between the tackles, but did some nice work as Nick Foles' safety valve in the passing game. Provided he sits out Thursday's finale, Cunningham finishes the preseason with 65 yards on 16 touches. Cunningham could begin the season as the Rams' third-down back if Todd Gurley (knee) isn't ready to go, but touches are going to be much scarcer than they were in 2014. Gurley and Tre Mason are going to dominate St. Louis' backfield.
Colin Kaepernick completed 2-of-5 passes for 13 yards and rushed three times for 53 yards in the 49ers' third preseason game.
Kaepernick played an entire half, but the 49ers offense could not do anything in the first half. The offensive line struggled to protect Kaepernick, who was sacked twice including a safety. All of Kaepernick's rushing yards and eight of his passing yards came on the final drive of the first half. Kaepernick has completed 5-of-13 passes for 40 yards (3.07 YPA) and been sacked three times this preseason.
Packers RT Bryan Bulaga suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's preseason game.
The injury isn't considered serious, but it's a concern for an offense that's already lost Jordy Nelson. Bulaga should be considered day to day.
Andrew Luck completed 12-of-21 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game.
Luck played (briefly) into the second half. He finishes the summer 22-of-36 for 275 yards (7.63 YPA) and a touchdown. Especially considering Aaron Rodgers' injury issues at receiver, Luck is this year's top fantasy quarterback.
