Colby Lewis struggled but still got the win on Monday against the Orioles, allowing five runs (three earned) in six innings.

Lewis was victimized early when Chris Davis launched a two-run home run in the first inning. Davis repeated the performance in the third inning, and Manny Machado hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. The three home runs accounted for half of the hits Lewis gave up on the evening. He walked none and struck out three. The right-hander held the opposition to three earned runs or fewer in all six June starts and now owns a 4.13 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and a 74/20 K/BB ratio over 100 1/3 innings. Lewis faces the Angels at home next.

Shin-Soo Choo homered in Tuesday's victory against the Orioles, finishing 1-for-4 with a walk.

Choo hit the second of two fifth-inning solo home runs against Miguel Gonzalez. The outfielder has homered in consecutive games, giving him 10 on the season with 34 RBI and a .232/.315/.395 batting line.
Jun 30 - 9:58 PM

Erasmo Ramirez suffered a tough-luck loss Tuesday, allowing one run over 5 2/3 innings against the Indians.

Ramirez allowed just two hits on the night, but one was a solo homer by Jason Kipnis. He also walked one while striking out seven. The loss, undeserved as it was, was just his third of the year and his first since May 24. The right-hander continues to pitch well in his new Tampa digs, now owning a 4.01 ERA and 1.14 WHIP on the year. He'll try to get back in the win column Sunday at the Yankees.

Giovanny Urshela hit a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Rays.

The homer was his second of the season, giving him seven RBI on the year. He finished 1-for-4 in the game. Urshela has quietly strung together hits in nine straight games to raise his overall line to .271/.317/.373.

Michael Cuddyer admitted that he was "definitely concerned" about the left knee injury that forced him from Tuesday's game versus the Cubs.

Cuddyer said he first felt pain in the knee while running to first base after his first plate appearance, but he wasn't removed until the seventh. The veteran outfielder will undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the damage, but it sounds like a trip to the disabled list could be in the offing.
Jun 30 - 9:56 PM

Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs, but it wasn't enough in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Davis also extended his hitting streak to 10 games. He homered for the first time in the first inning, staking the Orioles to an early 2-0 lead. He drilled his second home run in the third inning, breaking a 2-2 tie. The slugger is batting .238/.328/.491 with 18 home runs and 49 RBI as we near the midpoint of the season.
Jun 30 - 9:55 PM

Kyle Hendricks held the Mets scoreless over six innings in Tuesday's 1-0 victory.

Hendricks allowed just three hits and a walk over his six innings. He struck out six in the effort. The win was his first since June 7, raising his record to 3-4 with a 4.15 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. More than that, it righted the ship a bit after a few tough starts for the 25-year-old. He'll try to keep it going Sunday at the Marlins.
Jun 30 - 9:54 PM

Daniel Murphy finished 1-for-4 with a double in his return to the Mets on Tuesday.

Murphy, playing his first game since June 4, had one of the Mets' three hits on the evening. The double was his 15th in 56 games played this year. Murphy is hitting .282/.333/.416 overall.
