Zack Cozart was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to illness.

He should be fine in a day or two. Cesar Izturis is taking Cozart's place at shortstop.

Michael Cuddyer (neck) expects to be activated from the disabled list on Friday when first eligible.

Cuddyer said he is feeling much better after receiving an epidural on Tuesday to relieve the stiffness and soreness in his neck. He resumed baseball activities Saturday, throwing and hitting in the cage. It's possible he'll go out on a short rehab assignment, though that's not a given.

Troy Tulowitzki does roughly two hours of pregame and postgame maintenance on his left leg every day.

The maintenance includes massages and strengthening exercises before the game and sitting in the ice tub and a routine with exercise bands after the game. Tulo admits that his nagging left groin ailment leaves him "not capable" of playing every day. The injury bothers the shortstop most when he's running, particularly when he lunges to first base and sometimes when he breaks out of the batter's box. The Rockies are doing their best to manage the condition, and assistant general manager Bill Geivett admits that the club is "being overly cautious." Tulo has started 34 of the team's first 42 games and will probably continue to play at a similar pace. He's been awfully productive, hitting .341/.413/.605 with eight homers and 35 RBI, but obviously the groin issue remains a long-term concern.

Ben Revere hasn't started for four straight games.

He's actually hitting .357/.438/.393 in 33 plate appearances this month, but the Phillies have been going with John Mayberry in center field of late. Revere and hitting instructor Steve Henderson have been watching old film of the outfielder from his minor league days in hopes of finding something to fix his batting stroke. He'll probably be back in the lineup on Sunday after Mayberry took the golden sombrero Saturday.

Josh Reddick (wrist) has been taking some dry swings but is not ready to take batting practice yet.

Reddick is eligible to return from the disabled list on Wednesday, but that's not going to happen. It's possible the outfielder might eventually require surgery, but that point hasn't been reached yet. A timetable for his return remains up in the air.

Orioles recalled 3B Danny Valencia from Triple-A Norfolk.

Valencia has had a big year for Norfolk, batting .306 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI in 40 games. He went deep seven times over his past 10 contests. Valencia figures to see some at-bats in the DH spot.

Willie Bloomquist (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment midway through the week.

Bloomquist has been playing games at extended spring training and hasn't had any recent setbacks. He should be ready for activation before the end of the month.

Jason Kubel (quad) will return to the Diamondbacks' lineup Sunday.

Kubel still isn't totally over his left quad injury, so the club is taking it easy with him. He might continue to see more days off than normal as he tries to put the malady behind him.
