Mark Trumbo went 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI on Tuesday as the Orioles fell to the White Sox.

Unlike the rest of his teammates, Trumbo had no trouble figuring out James Shields in this one, collecting four of his team's seven total hits in the game. His RBI double got the O's on the board as part of a two-run second inning. Trumbo is now hitting .309/.317/.469 with two homers and eight RBI in his first 82 plate appearances on the season. Fantasy owners should be patient here, the power will come.

Kevin Gausman delivered a dominant performance in a no-decision against the White Sox on Tuesday, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings.

The 27-year-old hurler scattered nine hits and a walk, throwing 76 of his 106 pitches for strikes in the ballgame. The White Sox had at least one hitter reach against him in every inning except the fourth, but Gausman was able to make key pitches when he needed to the most. He has proven to be a useful mixed league commodity, registering a 3.48 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 58/15 K/BB ratio over his 62 innings. He'll look to carry over the momentum from this terrific outing when he takes on the Rays in Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Colin Moran ripped a solo home run Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Moran's blast off of Matt Harvey in the fourth inning was the only tally the Pirates were able to muster off of the right-hander. It was the third baseman's fourth dinger of the season. Moran has posted a solid .285/.378/.455 for the Pirates but hasn't done much in the way of counting stats.

Brandon McCarthy held the Phillies to one run over 5 2/3 frames Tuesday in the Braves' 3-1 victory.

The tall right-hander struck out five on the night, walked a couple and gave up four hits. He was pulled with a runner on first base and two out in the sixth and Sam Freeman got out of the inning. McCarthy now holds a 2.08 ERA over four starts against the Phillies this season and a 6.53 ERA versus everyone else. He’ll take on the Mets – not the Phillies – next.

Vince Velasquez fanned nine but couldn’t get through the fifth in Tuesday, giving up two runs – one earned – over 4 1/3 frames in a loss to the Braves.

Failing to pitch deep into a game is nothing new for Velasquez, of course, although he had gone at least six his last two times out. A throwing error by Nick Williams led to an unearned run and the righty’s exit in the fifth. Velasquez now boasts a 64/19 K/BB ratio across 51 2/3 frames but also a 4.18 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. He gets the Dodgers next.

Arodys Vizcaino notched his ninth save of the season with a perfect ninth inning Tuesday in Philadelphia.

It was one of the easier save opportunities Vizcaino has had, as he was dealing with a two-run lead and facing the 6-7-8 hitters in the Phillies' order. He set them down in order on 13 pitches. Vizcaino has had some shaky moments and the Braves have closer alternatives in A.J. Minter and Dan Winkler, but Vizcaino remains the preferred option for now.

Dansby Swanson wore the golden sombrero with strikeouts in all four of his plate appearances Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Swanson had the game-winning two-RBI single in the Braves' big comeback win over the Marlins, but that's one of just two hits he's had in 14 at-bats since returning from the disabled list. He now has a 28.5 percent strikeout rate and a 5.1 percent walk rate this season, which is a big step back from his 21.8 percent strikeout rate and 10.7 percent walk rate from last season.

Gary Sanchez made an early exit from Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to cramping in his calf.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after the game that it's nothing serious, though Sanchez may need a day off. He was 0-for-1 with two walks before exiting in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old catcher is slashing .230/.331/.547 with 12 home runs and 33 RBI in 41 games this season.
