Scott Van Slyke is day-to-day after leaving Sunday's game with a leg injury.

Van Slyke fouled a pitch off his left leg and had to be removed from the game. The injury isn't considered serious and the Dodgers expect him to available for the start of Monday's series against the Brewers.

Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Monday.

Ruiz left Sunday's game with a right hamstring strain and is likely headed to the disabled list. The Phillies are expected to call up Humberto Quintero to replace him on the active roster.
May 19 - 10:24 PM

Cameron Maybin (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment Friday.

Maybin was recently cleared to resume hitting activities and hasn't had any setbacks. On the disabled list since April 17, he's now close to returning to the Padres. Maybin was hitting just .091/.167/.121 with no home runs prior to the injury but offers plenty of fantasy potential when he's healthy.

Andrew McCutchen is day-to-day with right knee soreness.

McCutchen was injured sliding into home Thursday, but it's not a major concern and he isn't dealing with any structural damage. The Pirates should update his status on Monday.

Barry Zito allowed five runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings in his start Sunday against the Rockies.

It was another bad outing from Zito, and he's now failed to win a game in his last five starts. He needed 108 pitches to get through the five-plus innings and continues to struggle on the road this season, where he has an 11.25 ERA. Zito will get a rematch with the Rockies in his next start on Saturday.
May 19 - 9:14 PM

Juan Nicasio threw six scoreless innings Sunday in a win over the Giants.

Nicasio was knocked around for five runs in his previous outing, so it was a solid bounce back effort. He allowed just three hits, one walk, and had five strikeouts. Nicasio was a candidate to be sent down earlier this month, but his rotation spot is safe for now. Roy Oswalt is expected to make 4-5 starts with Double-A Tulsa before the Rockies need to decide whether or not to call him up.
May 19 - 9:12 PM

Dexter Fowler went 4-for-5 with two runs in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Fowler has multi-hit games in each of his last three starts and is finally heating up after a sluggish start to the month. He's batting .286/.375/.494 and ranks 10th in the National League with eight home runs this season.
May 19 - 8:59 PM

Andrew Cashner held the Nationals to three runs on seven hits over six-plus innings Sunday for his third win of the season.

He gave up just one walk and had six strikeouts. His lone mistake came on a two-run home run to Ryan Zimmerman in the fourth inning. Since converting to a starter, Cashner's fastball has averaged 94.8 mph, where he ranks second only to Stephen Strasburg. He's surrendered just four runs over his last 21 innings and remains a must-own in standard mixed fantasy leagues.
