Rockies recalled RHP Scott Oberg from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Oberg earned his promotion by allowing just one run over seven relief appearances for Albuquerque. The 25-year-old has struggled to keep the ball in the yard this season, surrendering eight homers in only 31 2/3 innings.
Athletics designated LHP Eric O'Flaherty for assignment.
O'Flaherty has posted a miserable 5.91 ERA in 25 games for Oakland this year and could probably use a change of scenery. The A's called up right-hander Aaron Brooks in the corresponding roster move.
David Wright (back) is close to beginning a minor league rehab assignment.
Wright will move his rehab to the team's minor league facility in St. Lucie when the Mets begin their six-game road trip next week. The seven-time All-Star has been sidelined by spinal stenosis since April 14. Daniel Murphy has been plugging away at third base in Wright's absence.
Rockies designated LHP Aaron Laffey for assignment.
The Rockies needed to clear a roster spot for Christian Bergman, who came off the disabled list on Saturday. It's the second time in the last month he's been DFA'd. The veteran owns a 3.68 ERA in three big league appearances this season.
Rockies activated RHP Christian Bergman from the 15-day disabled list.
He missed about a month with a shoulder injury. Though he's only made one start this year, Bergman could be asked to replace Kyle Kendrick (shoulder inflammation) in the starting rotation. The right-hander has logged a frustrating 4.66 ERA in 19 outings this year.
Rockies placed RHP Kyle Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation.
He left Friday's start after throwing just 25 pitches. Kendrick could be dealing with a rotator cuff injury, which sometimes requires surgery. His roster spot will be absorbed by right-hander Scott Oberg.
Chris Tillman (ankle) is not expected to make his scheduled start Monday against the Athletics.
His sprained ankle is feeling better but he's not ready to pitch yet. The Orioles are optimistic Tillman won't require a trip to the disabled list. It's unclear who would start in his place, though Tyler Wilson could be a possibility. Tillman hurled a gem in his last outing, scattering four hits over 8 2/3 shutout innings Wednesday in a win against the Braves.
Yankees recalled RHP Nick Rumbelow from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Rumbelow allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings in a four-game stint with the Bombers earlier this year. He's had an up and down year for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, compiling a mediocre 4.60 ERA in 31 appearances.
