An MRI on Mike Trout's left wrist showed only mild inflammation.

The Angels weren't worried about Trout's wrist, but this gives them and fantasy owners peace of mind. Manager Mike Scioscia said that Trout could return to the lineup as soon as Wednesday.

D.J. LeMahieu went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two runs scored in the Rockies' 7-2 win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

LeMahieu got the scoring started with an RBI double in the first inning, coming around to score later in the inning. He fell a homer shy of a cycle, but that's not terribly surprising given that he's hit just 13 homers in 469 career games. Still, the 27-year-old is on fire in July, riding an 18-game hitting streak en route to a .324/.381/.423 overall line. His 56 runs scored are eighth-most in the National League.
Jul 28 - 11:44 PM

Chris Coghlan hit his 11th home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Rockies.

Coghlan, making a pinch-hitting appearance, took Rockies reliever Gonzalez Germen deep in the seventh inning. He finished 1-for-2 with the solo shot. Coghlan is hitting .254/.345/.438 with 11 homers and nine steals as a regular in left field for the Cubs.

Corey Dickerson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

Dickerson had a single and a double in the game, collecting an RBI on a groundout in the fifth inning. Since returning to the lineup, the 26-year-old is 7-for-16 with multiple hits in three of his four games. The strong return to the lineup has his overall line up to .315/.347/.510.

Nolan Arenado hit a two-run double in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.

Arenado's two-run double was part of a four-run first inning against Cubs starter Dallas Beeler. Arenado finished 1-for-4 with a run scored in the game. The 25-year-old continues to enjoy a breakout season, batting .283/.322/.576 with 25 homers and a National League-best 76 RBI on the year.

Dallas Beeler allowed four runs over 1 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Rockies.

Making a spot start, the right-hander gave up four runs before he even got out of the first inning. Beeler hasn't been long for any of his three starts, as he's only lasted beyond the second inning in one thus far this year. He owns a 9.72 ERA and will almost certainly be returned to Triple-A Iowa shortly.
Jul 28 - 11:29 PM

Yohan Flande held the Cubs to one run over five innings in a win on Tuesday.

Flande gave up four hits and three walks, giving up only a single run. The southpaw also struck out four in the outing. The start was his first of the year for the Rockies after making 10 starts last season. He likely garnered another start with Tuesday's effort, which will come Sunday at the Cardinals.
Jul 28 - 11:25 PM

Joey Votto went 3-for-3 with a three-run home run as the Reds shut out the Cardinals 4-0 on Tuesday.

Votto hit a single and a double to go along with his three-run homer in the sixth inning. The multi-hit game was his eighth in his last 11 contests, including five three-hit outings. After a lull in early July, the 31-year-old is back to hitting a robust .311/.428/.538 with 19 homers, 51 RBI and 55 runs scored overall.
