The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter said the Falcons "appear to be leaning toward retaining wide receiver Roddy White."

With White set to count just over $6.1 million against the salary cap, there has been speculation the Falcons will move on from their declining No. 2 receiver. GM Thomas Dimitroff recently said, "It's not always about the talent," however, and coach Dan Quinn has talked about White's value as a "competitor and leader" on multiple occasions. It would still be surprising if White is back at his current cap hit, but it looks like the Falcons are at least open to idea.

Philadelphia Police confirmed two off-duty officers were hospitalized after an altercation inside a nightclub early Sunday morning.

The two off-duty officers were allegedly assaulted by four assailants after an argument over a bottle of champagne at approximately 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning. LeSean McCoy is believed to be one of the alleged assailants. One of the officers suffered a laceration to his right eye, a broken nose, broken ribs and a sprained thumb. The other officer needed stitches over his left eye and is receiving treatment for a possible skull fracture. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

In a television interview, Tom Coughlin reiterated he is not retired.

"I'm not ret ... I don't like that word," Coughlin said. "I'm way too young for that." Coughlin added he is not handling being unemployed "very well." Giants co-owner John Mara said before the Super Bowl he would speak with Coughlin about a position with the organization. It sounds like the former coach would be open to a job.

Impending free agent OLB Von Miller said contract negotiations with the Broncos will be "a peaceful thing."

Miller's comments came while accepting the MVP award for Super Bowl 50. One of the best pass rushers in the league, Miller elevated his game this postseason with five combined sacks in the AFC Championship and Super Bowl wins. Even if they cannot agree to a long-term deal, the Broncos are widely expected to retain Miller with the franchise tag.

The Vikings' official website believes DE Danielle Hunter could earn a starting job next season.

A third-round pick last season, Hunter recorded six sacks in a rotational role behind Brian Robison and Everson Griffen. Hunter is clearly the future at the position, and he could be elevated to a starting role if the Vikings decide to move on from Robison, who is set to count $5.05 million against the cap at age 33. Hunter should have a bigger role even if Robison sticks around. With young playmakers all over the field, the Vikings' defense looks set to dominate for the foreseeable future.

CSN Philadelphia reports LeSean McCoy was allegedly involved in the assault of three off-duty Philadelphia police officers early Sunday morning.

McCoy, former NFL RB Curtis Brinkley, former Pitt WR T.J. Porter and Christopher Henderson reportedly got into a physical altercation over a bottle of champagne with three off-duty officers around 2:45 a.m. at Philly's Recess Lounge. ABC 6 reports two officers were hospitalized as a result of the altercation, and Fox 29's Dave Schratwieser reports one officer suffered a fractured skull. None of the alleged assailants were arrested, but they are reportedly the focus of the investigation. The Bills released a statement saying the organization was "aware" of the reports and is "in the process of gathering more information."

Impending free agent Reggie Bush (knee) said he is not retiring.

Bush's first and likely only season with the 49ers ended early after he slipped on the concrete at the Edward Jones Dome and tore his meniscus Week 8. Bush should be ready for training camp, but it is not a given he will find a new home before then. Soon-to-be 31, Bush has played in 16 games the last two seasons.

The Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen reports the Eagles are not interested in reacquiring Rams QB Nick Foles.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday new coach Doug Pederson was interested in the Eagles former quarterback, but a source told Bowen, "There is no chance the team will reacquire Foles." If accurate, it is the right decision by Philadelphia. Foles has not shown anything the last two seasons to suggest he is markedly better than current No. 2 Mark Sanchez, and trading even a late-round pick to acquire what looks like a bad contract is not a sound way to build a football team. The Rams are likely stuck with Foles until they can get out of his contract next offseason.
