Rangers recalled RHP Dillon Gee from Triple-A Round Rock.

He's taking the place of the injured A.J. Griffin on the Rangers' roster. It's unclear if he'll also take his spot in the starting rotation, or if Tyson Ross will be doing that upon his return next weekend.

Rangers placed RHP A.J. Griffin on the 10-day disabled list with a left intercostal strain.

Griffin suffered the injury during Friday's disaster of a start against the Blue Jays. There's no clear timetable for his return at the moment, look for him to miss at least two starts though.

Bud Norris (knee) played catch on Saturday without issue and said afterwards that he feels like he could pitch if needed.

It remains to be seen if manager Mike Scioscia will call upon his closer a day after he was removed due to soreness in his right knee. It does sound as if he'll avoid the disabled list though and should return to action soon.

David Peralta is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup against Chase Anderson and the Brewers on Saturday.

Gregor Blanco is starting in right field for the Diamondbacks and batting leadoff while Reymond Fuentes starts in center. Look for Peralta to return for Sunday's series finale.
May 27 - 1:09 PM

Cesar Hernandez (groin) returned to the Phillies' starting lineup on Saturday.

Hernandez sat out Friday's game due to a minor groin injury, but he's right back in there and atop the Phillies' lineup for Saturday's showdown against Bronson Arroyo and the Reds.

Padres recalled INF/OF Franchy Cordero from Triple-A El Paso.

He'll provide depth on the Padres' bench while Manuel Margot is sidelined. The 22-year-old was hitting .289/.349/.520 with seven homers, 23 RBI and eight stolen bases in 42 games at Triple-A.
May 27 - 12:51 PM

Padres placed OF Manuel Margot on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 25, with a strained right calf.

The Padres gave him a couple of days to see if he could recover quickly, but eventually made the right move putting him on the disabled list. Franchy Cordero was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.
May 27 - 12:48 PM

Dustin Pedroia (knee) returned to the Red Sox' starting lineup on Saturday.

Pedroia was removed from Thursday's game with a minor knee injury and sat out on Friday as a precautionary measure. He's hitting second against Rob Whalen and the Mariners on Saturday.
