Dodgers acquired OF Jose Tabata from the Pirates in exchange for 1B/OF Michael Morse.
Tabata has been removed from the Pirates' 40-man roster a couple times, as it was clear he was no longer in their plans. He's owed $4.5 million next season and has $750,000 worth of buyouts from 2017-19.
Orioles acquired OF Junior Lake from the Cubs in exchange for RHP Tommy Hunter.
Lake has shown power in spurts with the Cubs but is a career .241/.283/.380 hitter over parts of three seasons. He doesn't ever figure to have a big role in Baltimore.
Joc Pederson is not in the Dodgers starting lineup on Friday.
It appears to be just a routine day of rest for the struggling outfielder. Kike Hernandez will start in center field and hit eighth on Friday.
Rangers optioned RHP Jon Edwards to Triple-A Round Rock.
He's clearing out for the arrival of Sam Dyson. Edwards has allowed four runs over six relief innings for the Rangers this season.
Corey Dickerson (rib) is not in the Rockies' lineup Friday.
Dickerson left Thursday's game with a right rib contusion. He's day-to-day. Brandon Barnes is in left field Friday in his place.
Clayton Kershaw was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday due to his hip issue.
The same ailment scratched him on Wednesday. He is now scheduled to start on Saturday after an extra day of rest. Zack Greinke will start in his place against the Angels on Friday.
Stephen Strasburg (oblique) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
Strasburg allowed three runs on four hits over four innings in his first rehab outing Wednesday. As long as he doesn't have a physical setback on Monday, he'll rejoin the Nationals' rotation late next week.
Nick Tropeano will start on Sunday against the Dodgers.
He's filling in for C.J. Wilson (elbow). Tropeano will be sent back down after the outing, as Jered Weaver (hip) is due back next week.
