Caleb Smith was removed from Sunday's start against the Rockies due to left shoulder tightness.

Initially, it was believed that Smith had sustained a groin injury, but it's his pitching shoulder instead that ails him. It's not yet clear if it's severe enough to cause him to miss his next start, but fantasy owners should have a contingency plan ready in case he is unable to start next week.

Adeiny Hechavarria went 1-for-5 with a homer in an extra-innings win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Hechavarria and power are not often synonymous, but the slick-fielding shortstop picked up his third blast of the year off of Domingo German in the second inning. He's been limited to just 40 games because of injuries, but he is hitting a solid .282 in that time frame. He doesn't hit for enough power or steal enough bases to have much value in mixed formats, however.

Miguel Andujar went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in a loss to the Rays on Sunday in extra innings.

The homer gives Andujar 11 on the season, and this one briefly gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead after the blast off of Matt Andriese in the second inning. Outside of that it wasn't a strong game for the rookie third baseman, but it's tough to complain about a game featuring a homer and three RBI. He's hitting .284/.312/.484 since being called up by the Yankees, and he's driven in 35 runs over his 65 games.

Yankees' manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday's game that Gary Sanchez is likely heading to the disabled list with a groin strain.

Sanchez was forced to leave Sunday's game with the groin injury that he sustained while running to first base in the 10th inning. Just how long he'll be sidelined isn't yet clear, though more will be known presumably after he heads for an MRI on Monday. Austin Romine will handle the bulk of the catching duties in his absence.
Jun 24 - 5:49 PM

Giancarlo Stanton went 5-for-5 with a homer and two doubles in a loss to the Rays in extras on Sunday.

He also drew a walk, so we saw the slugger on base six times in the extra-inning loss. Stanton's blast was a big one, as it was a solo shot that tied the game at 6-6 in the eighth inning off of Vidal Nuno. He now has 19 homers on the season, and the two doubles give him 15, respectively. It's not the MVP season we saw in 2017, but Stanton now has hsi OPS up to .852 over 74 games, and there's reason to believe that number will continue to go up as the year progresses.

Domingo German was rocked for six runs on nine hits in just three innings in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.

German was brilliant against the Mariners in his start on Tuesday. That would not be an accurate description of his start against Tampa Bay on Sunday. The right-hander wasn’t fooling anyone with his stuff in his three innings, and the command of his arsenal was poor. We’ll call it an off-day for German, but off-days haven’t been all that uncommon, as seen in his 5.40 ERA over 63 2/3 innings. He’ll attempt to show the stuff he displayed against Seattle in his next outing, scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.
Jun 24 - 5:42 PM

Matt Andriese allowed three runs over three innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Sunday.

He walked two and struck out one. Andriese pitched a clean first and third inning, but he got in trouble in the second and allowed a three-run shot to Miguel Andujar. The right-hander will take a 4.02 ERA into his next scheduled start on Saturday against the Astros.
Jun 24 - 5:41 PM

Jake Bauers went 2-for-6 and hit a walk-off homer in the 12th inning on Sunday in a 7-6 victory over the Yankees.

His other hit was his first big-league triple. The solo homer off of Chasen Shreve give Bauers two on the season, with this one giving the Rays the win and a surprising series sweep. Since being called up on June 7, the rookie has hit a pedestrian .254, but he's shown his strong approach with a .389 on-base percentage and .525 slugging percentage over 59 plate appearances. As long as he gets everyday playing time -- and he should -- there should be some fantasy value here.
