Jesse Hahn left Saturday's start against the Royals in the sixth inning after fielding a comebacker.

He was looking at a finger on his throwing hand when he exited. It's a shame because Hahn was having an excellent game, allowing just three hits in 5 1/3 shutout innings. Jesse Chavez came on to take his place. We should know more about Hahn's status after the game. He could be dealing with a blister.

David Hale (oblique) will make a rehab appearance at High-A Modesto on Monday.

Hale is working his way back from a strained oblique. The goal Monday is for him to throw about 45 pitches. Prior to getting hurt, Hale had been in the mix for a rotation spot. If he comes back as a starter, Christian Bergman might have to settle for bullpen duty.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch was encouraged by Josh Fields' rehab outing Friday for Triple-A Fresno.

Hinch said Fields showed some of his "best stuff" while throwing "just north" of 20 pitches. Friday was Fields' fourth rehab outing and he's scheduled to make another appearance on Sunday. Hinch hinted that Fields could be activated at some point during the team's upcoming road trip. Fields has been out since late March with a strained groin.

Yordano Ventura was ejected from Saturday's game against the A's after hitting Brett Lawrie with a pitch.

This was retaliation for Lawrie sliding hard into Alcides Escobar on Friday night. Ventura's intent was clear and now he's probably headed for a suspension. The 23-year-old right-hander got hit pretty hard in this one, surrendering five runs in only 3 1/3 innings of work. Chris Young would likely get the call if Ventura is suspended for his next turn.

Bruce Rondon (biceps) made 15 tosses from 60 feet on Friday.

He did it without any complications. Rondon has been sidelined all season with biceps tendinitis. The 24-year-old has the potential to be an important part of the Tigers' bullpen when healthy but he obviously isn't on the fantasy radar right now. A mid-May debut seems possible.

Joe Nathan (elbow) threw off a mound on Saturday.

He hadn't done that since suffering a flexor strain in his right elbow earlier this month. Nathan only tossed 15 pitches Saturday but said he felt "awesome." The next step will be a full bullpen session on Monday. If all goes well, Nathan could be activated Wednesday, the first day he's eligible to come off the disabled list. Joakim Soria has been filling in at closer.

Zach Britton earned his fourth save of the season Saturday in the Orioles' 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

Britton retired all three batters he faced -- two via strikeout. The 27-year-old closer has been missing bats at an elevated rate so far this season and has nailed down saves in four of the O's six victories. He looks capable of carrying big time fantasy value all year.

Chris Davis slugged his second home run of the season Saturday in the Orioles' win over the Red Sox.

It was a two-run opposite field shot that sailed over the Green Monster. Davis also singled, though he struck out in his three other plate appearances. The 29-year-old is batting .256/.310/.487 with seven RBI and 18 strikeouts in 10 games this season for the O's.
