Free agent QB Rex Grossman has rejected an offer to sign with the Browns for Week 17.

Grossman is choosing instead to spend the holiday with his family. We can't blame him. The Browns have nothing to play for, and Grossman isn't in need of a one-week paycheck at the league minimum at the expense of missing Christmas. The Browns will turn to undrafted rookie Connor Shaw vs. Baltimore.

Bengals declared WR Greg Little, WR James Wright, QB A.J. McCarron, OL Tanner Hawkinson, OLB Emmanuel Lamur, and CB Chris Lewis-Harris inactive for Week 16 against the Broncos.

None are real surprises. Little is a healthy scratch. McCarron is sick. Lamur has a hamstring injury, and Wright is battling a knee problem.

Ronnie Hillman (foot) is inactive for Week 16 against the Bengals.

Hillman was listed as questionable and a game-time decision. He should be back for Week 17 and the Broncos' playoff run as a change-up to C.J. Anderson.
Dec 22 - 7:12 PM

Emmanuel Sanders (illness) is active for Monday night's Week 16 game against the Bengals.

As expected. Sanders had been battling the flu all week, but looked good in pregame warmups. He's locked and loaded as a WR2.

Peyton Manning (thigh) and Emmanuel Sanders (illness) are both active for Monday night's Week 16 game against the Bengals.

As expected. Despite being listed as questionable, both players were never in any real doubt for the Monday night finale. Inactive for the Broncos are RB Ronnie Hillman, LB Brandon Marshall, OT Paul Cornick, CB Tony Carter, OT Michael Schofield, TE Dominique Jones, and DE Quanterus Smith.

Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Eddie Lacy (leg) is "fine."

Lacy was rested late in Sunday's easy win over the Bucs with an injury. It was never believed to be serious, and McCarthy confirms that. "I have no concerns about Eddie," said McCarthy. He'll be good for Week 17 against the Lions.

Chargers placed RG Johnnie Troutman (knee, ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The Bolts will turn to UDFA Jeremiah Sirles as their starting right guard Sunday at Kansas City. Troutman's 2014 season ends with 15 starts. Pro Football Focus charted Troutman with atrocious grades in both run and pass blocking. Ideally, Troutman would return in a reserve role next season.

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi expects the Browns to sign free agent QB Rex Grossman for Week 17.

We'd much rather see Terrelle Pryor or even Tim Tebow, but Grossman is probably the most sensible choice. He spent nearly three weeks with the Browns in training camp, and is known to be tight with OC Kyle Shanahan, with whom Grossman spent time in both Houston and Washington. It's not out of the question that Grossman ends up starting in Week 17 against Baltimore, though Connor Shaw is the favorite, assuming Brian Hoyer (shoulder) can't go.
