Ravens placed TE Dennis Pitta on the reserve/PUP list.

This means Pitta will definitely miss the first six games, but it would be surprising if he played this season. Baltimore also waived G/T De'Ondre Wesley and T Darryl Baldwin to reach the 75-man roster limit.

Bucs waived/injured WR Robert Herron and DB Leonard Johnson.

Both will revert to injured reserve if they pass through waivers. A sophomore out of Wyoming, Herron had just six receptions his rookie season and was struggling to make a mark in training camp. Louis Murphy will open the season as Tampa's slot receiver.

Emmanuel Sanders (hamstring) is expected to play Week 1.

Sanders ran routes at full speed in 7-on-7 drills in his return to practice Monday. He is not expected to play in the fourth preseason game, but he will be good to go for the regular season opener. Sanders will not be targeted as heavily in Gary Kubiak's offense, but he is still a solid WR2.

Titans waived/released TE Tevin Westbrook, DT Toby Johnson and S Josh Aubrey.

Tennessee also placed WR Andrew Turzilli (ankle) and LB Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil (hamstring) on injured reserve. These moves put the Titans' at the 75-man roster limit.

Falcons RB Devonta Freeman was the most active he had been since returning from a hamstring injury in Monday's practice.

Freeman returned to practice two weeks ago, but had been limited to this point. Falcons coach Dan Quinn was clearly excited to get Freeman back. "He is a guy who has juice," Quinn said. "When you feel somebody on the field, he’s got that kind of explosion and ability. It was great to have him out there." It is unclear if Freeman will suit up for the fourth preseason game. He should enter the season in a timeshare with rookie Tevin Coleman.

Eagles WR Riley Cooper has yet to catch a pass this preseason.

Cooper has started all three preseason games, but he has been nonexistent in the passing game. A blocking specialist, Cooper will not make an offensive impact even if he keeps his starting job all season.
Sep 1 - 10:54 AM

Eagles QB Matt Barkley will start the team's fourth preseason game.

This suggests Barkley is ahead of Tim Tebow in the battle for the third quarterback spot, but coach Chip Kelly may think Tebow's versatility makes him more valuable. Barkley could help his trade value with a good showing.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick called DT Dominique Easley an "explosive player that is very disruptive."

This is the second time in a week Belichick has talked up Easley, who had a sack and an impressive tackle for loss in the third preseason game. Finally healthy, Easley should make an impact as a pass rusher and disruptive run game force this season.
