Red Sox recalled LHP Robbie Ross from Triple-A Pawtucket.

He'll serve as the 26th man during Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Twins. Ross holds a 5.29 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 15 relief appearances for the Red Sox this season.
Jun 3 - 11:47 AM

Josh Hamilton (hamstring) is expected to sit out again Wednesday.

Hamilton is dealing with some tightness in his left hamstring and will miss a second straight game. It's not viewed as a big deal, as the outfielder remains day-to-day.
Jun 3 - 11:46 AM

Ricky Nolasco (ankle) is hoping to start on Saturday versus the Brewers.

Nolasco departed his last outing with a right ankle impingement. He'll throw a bullpen session Thursday to see if he can give it a go Saturday, but Twins manager Paul Molitor was told by the club's trainers that it's 50/50 as to whether Nolasco will be ready or if he'll need a disabled list stint.
Jun 3 - 11:31 AM

Tommy Milone will be recalled to start on Thursday against the Red Sox.

Milone has certainly earned the promotion, posting a microscopic 0.70 ERA and 47/3 K/BB ratio over 38 2/3 innings at Triple-A Rochester. It could just be a spot start, assuming Ricky Nolasco (ankle) is ready to start on Saturday. Kyle Gibson will be pushed back to start Friday.
Jun 3 - 11:28 AM

Jon Jay is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday.

Jay has now started just three of six games since being activated from the disabled list. Meanwhile, Randal Grichuk has been in the lineup five times over that span, making starts at all three outfield spots. Grichuk is in center field Wednesday.
Jun 3 - 11:14 AM

Aramis Ramirez is absent from the Brewers' lineup Wednesday.

He's just getting some rest. Hector Gomez is handling third base while Ramirez rides the pine.
Jun 3 - 11:00 AM

Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers' lineup Wednesday.

It's just a routine day off. Gerardo Parra is in right field Wednesday as Braun sits, with Shane Peterson cover left.
Jun 3 - 10:59 AM

Joe Mauer is not in the Twins' lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Trevor Plouffe has moved across the diamond to play first base, with Eduardo Escobar filling in at third. Mauer will be back in there for the second game.
