DeVante Parker is day to day with an undisclosed injury.

Parker pulled up in Monday's practice, but participated in Tuesday's walk-through. He's sitting out Thursday's preseason finale, but would have done so regardless. Injuries are certainly a concern for the second-year wideout, but this one won't affect his status for Week 1.

Free agent S Major Wright is working out for the Panthers.

The Panthers haven't seem satisfied with their safety depth, also working out Donte Whitner and Stevie Brown in recent days. Wright was released by the Bucs on Sunday.

Chargers waived RB Dreamius Smith, OT Tyler Johnstone and DT Zamir Carlis.

Smith appeared in two games last season, but didn't notch a carry. Getting waived at this stage of the summer suggests he won't be stashed on the practice squad.

Breshad Perriman (knee) will make his preseason debut on Thursday.

It will be the first time the No. 26 overall pick of the 2015 draft has ever played a live snap. Perriman doesn't figure to be on the field for more than a series or two, but the real takeaway is that it confirms he'll be ready for Week 1. That's barring a setback, of course. The Ravens' receiver corps is one of the least settled in the league, but with Perriman so far behind, he isn't worth a late-round flier in 12-team re-draft leagues.
Aug 30 - 1:48 PM

Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) on reserve/PUP.

Taliaferro didn't practice at all in training camp. The Ravens appear likely to keep four backs on their 53-man roster: Justin Forsett, Terrance West, Buck Allen, and Kenneth Dixon (MCL). Taliaferro could return in Week 7.
Aug 30 - 1:44 PM

Ravens placed DE Bronson Kaufusi on injured reserve with a broken ankle, ending his season.

OT Stephane Nembot has also been sent to I.R. The No. 70 overall pick of the draft, Kafusi had been ticketed for a rotational role along the Ravens' defensive line. The lost season is extra bad news for Kafusi, as he's already 25 years old. He'll be on the spot to make an impact in 2017 camp.
Aug 30 - 1:43 PM

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirms Bears OLB Pernell McPhee (knee) is in danger of beginning the season on the reserve/PUP list.

McPhee supposedly underwent a "scope" early in the offseason, but the procedure was almost certainly more serious. McPhee would have been back on the practice months ago had he really undergone arthroscopic surgery. The Bears' pass rush is looking dangerously thin to begin the year.
Aug 30 - 1:39 PM

Chargers WR Javontee Herndon is recovering from a knee scope, and expected to miss the entire season.

The return man was battling to be the No. 5 receiver. He'll likely be back to compete for one of San Diego's final roster spots in 2017.
