Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Hunter Pence (hamstring) could still return to the Giants lineup on Friday.

Pence will test out his hamstring in the outfield and on the bases before Friday's game. Even if he doesn't make his way into the lineup, it sounds as though he's close and should return in the next day or two.

Edwin Escobar will start for the Diamondbacks on Monday against the Astros.

It'll be the first big league start for the 24-year-old southpaw. He has been uninspiring in five starts at Triple-A Reno this season, compiling a 4.68 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 17/6 K/BB ratio across 25 innings. He can be safely avoided for fantasy purposes.
May 27 - 6:56 PM

Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale announced Friday that Archie Bradley will be recalled from Triple-A Reno to start in place of the injured Shelby Miller on Sunday.

Bradley has been outstanding at Triple-A this year, but has again struggled in his spot starts with the big league club. While the talent is there, he makes for a risky fantasy proposition until he shows the ability to get major league hitters out on a consistent basis.

Leonys Martin said that his hamstring was feeling much better on Friday and he remains optimistic that he'll avoid a trip to the disabled list.

He's still expected to miss the next 3-4 games, so fantasy owners should plan to be without him for the remainder of the weekend. He's scheduled to take some swings on Friday, and if all goes well he should return to the lineup early next week.
May 27 - 6:42 PM

Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale announced Friday that Rubby De La Rosa has been diagnosed with a sprained UCL.

The D'Backs plan to consult with Dr. James Andrews, who performed De La Rosa's Tommy John surgery in 2011, before determining how to proceed. He should be considered out indefinitely.
May 27 - 6:35 PM

Will Myers (forearm) has returned to the Padres starting lineup on Friday.

Myers is back at first base and hitting in his customary second spot in the Padres lineup. He had been sidelined since feeling discomfort in his left forearm on Monday.
May 27 - 6:31 PM

David Peralta (wrist) expects to begin playing in extended spring training games next Wednesday.

Peralta plans to play a few games and then rejoin the Diamondbacks, so it looks like he should return next weekend if all goes well. The outfielder has been on the shelf for the last three weeks with inflammation in his right wrist, but he's been swinging a bat for a few days with no issues.
May 27 - 6:00 PM

Giancarlo Stanton (side) took swings in a batting cage on Friday.

He hasn't played since Tuesday due to soreness in his right side and is out of the lineup again Friday. Stanton would appear to still be at least a day or two away, but he's making some progress.
