Wilmer Difo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Difo finished off the game's scoring with his solo home run in the seventh inning. That shot made the score 6-2 and the Nationals would hang on without issue to the end of the game. In 136 at-bats this season, the 25-year-old infielder is hitting an uninspiring .257/.331/.338 with two homers and 11 RBI.

Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that Stephen Strasburg was lifted from his start after two innings due to the fact that he had trouble getting loose.

The right-hander labored through the first two innings of this one, throwing 51 pitches and issuing three walks. His removal was precautionary and he'll be re-evaluated when the club is back home on Monday, but at the moment it doesn't appear as though he's dealing with a serious injury issue. Be sure to have a contingency plan in place if he isn't able to start this week, but for the time being it doesn't look like Strasburg will be heading to the DL.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Sunday's game that Clayton Kershaw would be placed on the 10-day disabled list.

Roberts was quick to point out that he didn't feel this injury was similar to the herniated disc issue that cost Kershaw two months during the 2016 season. It does look like it'll sideline him for a couple of weeks however. No timetable will be placed on his potential return until he meets with team doctors on Monday.

Ketel Marte went 1-for-5 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Marte put the Diamondbacks on the board with his RBI single in the fifth inning, but that knock merely made the score 5-1. Since being called up in late June to help fill in for Nick Ahmed (hand), the infielder has largely struggled, hitting just .200/.260/.378 with two homers and six RBI in 19 games.

Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and two walks in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

No-contact afternoon for Goldy in this one. The stalwart first baseman has drawn 11 walks in his last five games. Overall, he boasts a .307/.425/.560 triple-slash with 21 homers, 73 RBI and 15 steals across 348 at-bats.

After Stephen Strasburg left Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks due to an undisclosed injury, Matt Grace came in to allow two runs on three hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Strasburg managed two innings before being sidelined by possible injury, after which Grace came on to try to give the Nationals a little length. Two runs scored against him in the fifth inning and he finished up his long-relief duty having struck out one and walked one. In 23 appearances this season, Grace is pitching to a 3.65 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 15/10 K/BB ratio.

Robbie Ray surrendered five runs (four earned) on six hits over five innings in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Ray got off to an awful start in this one, coughing up a leadoff home run to Brian Goodwin to open the game. Three more runs would come home after that shot, leaving the Diamondbacks in a 4-0 hole before they even had a chance to bat. He settled in after that, but the damage had already been done. Ray finished up his outing with a modest four strikeouts and two walks. Up next on the docket as he tries to shake it off, a road showdown with the Cardinals. He will bring a 3.15 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 149/57 K/BB ratio (19 starts) into that contest.
Jul 23 - 8:33 PM

Logan Forsythe hit a walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning of Sunday's win over the Braves.

Forsythe hit his game-winning single off Jim Johnson with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th inning. The infielder also picked up a double earlier in the contest. For the campaign as a whole, Forsythe has mostly struggled to a .244/.368/.337 triple-slash while hitting three homers and driving in 17 runs across 63 games played.
