Melky Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Cabrera mashed a solo homer off Jordan Zimmermann with one out in the third inning, his fifth home run of the season. In addition, the veteran outfielder is slashing .354/.308/.370 and has driven in 26 runs across 181 at-bats.

Franklin Gutierrez was removed from Sunday's game against the Cubs due to illness.

The Dodgers wouldn't reveal the exact illness. The veteran outfielder was lifted for pinch hitter Yasiel Puig prior to his first at-bat, after playing just one inning in the field. He should be fine to return to action in a day or two.

Miguel Cabrera went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

The White Sox did not pick up their first hit until the seventh inning, when Alex Avila picked up a single. Cabrera would come through later in the inning with an RBI knock to put the Tigers on the board. The game itself was not in doubt, as even with that hit, Detroit still trailed 7-1. Cabrera has yet to get on any sort of a prolonged hot streak and is slashing a relatively unremarkable .257/.361/.412 with five homers and 19 RBI for the season as a whole.

Andrew Romine went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

Romine picked up an RBI triple against Miguel Gonzalez in the eighth inning. It was his second three-bagger of the season and bumped his RBI total to 12. While he has turned in multi-hit performances in two of his last three games, he is still hitting an uninspiring .238/.316/.369 over the course of 122 at-bats.

Miguel Gonzalez yielded three runs on six hits over 7 2/3 innings in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Gonzalez was on-point throughout in this one. He carried a perfect game into the seventh inning, one which was finally broken up on a single by Alex Avila to lead off that frame. The veteran right-hander struck out six without walking a batter in the outing. With this strong showing in the books, Gonzalez now owns a 4.43 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 39/20 K/BB ratio across 63 frames. He will try to fool the Tigers once more when he takes a road trip to Detroit for his next scheduled start.
May 28 - 5:34 PM

Jordan Zimmermann surrendered seven runs on eight hits over five innings in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.

Zimmermann had legitimate issues keeping the ball in the park in this one, coughing up solo home runs to Melky Cabrera and Matt Davidson in the third and fourth innings, respectively. Todd Frazier would add a two-run shot in the fifth. Zimmermann has largely struggled this season and has not turned in a quality start since he did so in his first outing of the season on April 8. He will try once more when he brings a dreadful 6.47 ERA and 1.56 WHIP into a home start against these same White Sox next time out.

George Springer went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Orioles.

Springer came through with a two-run home run off Alec Asher as part of a six-run second inning by the Astros. He has now gone yard in back-to-back contests to give him 11 long balls on the year, this after hitting just three in his past 31 games prior to this weekend's series against the Orioles. Pair those 11 dingers with 28 RBI and a .243/.322/.464 triple-slash.
May 28 - 5:28 PM

Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in Sunday's win over the Orioles.

The Astros trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the second inning before Gonzalez helped to jump start a six-run frame via a two-run double off Alec Asher. The two-bagger was his sixth of the season and he now boasts a smooth .299/.394/.632 triple-slash with 11 homers and 30 RBI over the course of 52 games played. His has been one of the most surprising offensive starts in all of baseball this season.
