Mets 1B prospect Dominic Smith matched a career-high with four RBI Tuesday in a win for Double-A Binghamton.

The 20-year-old collected his third home run of the season as Binghamton cruised to a 13-2 win over Portland. Smith's last four-RBI game came on May 31, 2015 while playing for High-A St. Lucie. He's hit a ridiculous .349 over his last 11 games after batting just .171 over his first 11 contests. Smith is now second in the Eastern League with 20 RBI. The former first-round pick led the Florida State League with 79 RBI in 2015.

Phillies RHP prospect Jake Thompson turned in his best start of the year Tuesday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, allowing just two hits, two walks and one run over seven innings.

He contributed four strikeouts while lowering his season ERA from 6.16 to 4.85. Tuesday was his longest outing of the season. Thompson induced 10 groundouts including two double plays. It's been an up-and-down year for the 22-year-old. The former second-round pick owns a 1.31 WHIP to go with an equally underwhelming 7.61 K/9. Maybe Tuesday's impressive showing was a sign that he's ready to turn the corner.

Aledmys Diaz is batting leadoff for the Cardinals on Wednesday night against the Phillies.

It will be his first time hitting anywhere higher than seventh in the St. Louis lineup. Diaz boasts an incredible .388/.424/.700 slash line with five home runs and 14 RBI over his first 25 major league games.

Rockies RHP prospect Ryan Castellani let up just one hit over eight scoreless innings Tuesday in a win for High-A Modesto.

He finished with one walk and a career-high 10 strikeouts. It was the longest start of Castellani's career. The lone hit came on a fourth-inning single by Lake Elsinore second baseman Luis Urias. Castellani had been winless in his previous four starts. The 20-year-old now owns a respectable 3.38 ERA over 29 1/3 innings this year. He was Colorado's second-round pick in 2014.

Hector Olivera's administrative leave has been extended.

Oliera was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery after a woman called 911 on April 13 outside the Braves' team hotel in Arlington, Virginia alleging that she had been attacked by the 31-year-old Cuban outfielder. The investigation by the Arlington Police Department is still underway. Major League Baseball is also running an investigation of its own under the league's new domestic violence policy. This could take a while to sort out.

Tigers OF prospect Steven Moya had another productive game Tuesday in a win for Triple-A Toledo, leading the Mud Hens with four hits including two homers.

It's our second Moya blurb in as many days, which should tell you he's pretty locked in right now. He plated five runs Tuesday while finishing a triple shy of the cycle. Moya has reached base eight times in his last nine plate appearances with five extra-base hits over that span. The hot streak has brought his average up to .313. Last year Moya hit just .243 in 540 minor league at-bats

Coco Crisp is out Wednesday afternoon against the Mariners because of a heel issue.

A's manager Bob Melvin also mentioned that Crisp saw a doctor Wednesday morning for a "non-baseball issue," so there might be something else going on here. The veteran center fielder is presumably day-to-day.
