Jets C Nick Mangold was forced from New York's Week 16 game against the Patriots with a left-ankle injury, and will not return.
Mangold got rolled up in ugly fashion, and the cart was immediately brought out on the field. Players from both teams circled around before he was taken to the locker room. Mangold appeared distraught, and has almost certainly suffered a significant injury. Dalton Freeman is now in the game at center. It's a huge loss for Gang Green.
According to Jay Adams of the Falcons' official site, Julio Jones (oblique) is "really passing the eye test" in warmups.
Adams is an employee of the team, so it's possible he's wearing rose-colored glasses. But his observations are worth passing along. Adams says Julio "looks strong, loose, ready" and is "running well." The Falcons desperately need to win this game over the Saints and desperately need their No. 1 WR as more than a decoy. We've ranked him 17th among wideouts.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms DeMarco Murray (hand) is expected to play Sunday, "though his role will be limited some" in the passing game.
The concerns on Murray primarily involve his pass protection and receiving. It's quite possible he won't have a single reception in Week 16. Look for Patrick Daugherty's final rankings, which will be up on Rotoworld shortly.
Arian Foster (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens, as expected.
Listed as probable, Foster was never in real doubt. Expect the Texans to ride him hard as they try to hide Case Keenum. Foster is a strong RB1 despite a tough matchup with the Ravens' elite front seven.
Brandon LaFell (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game at the Jets, as expected.
LaFell has consistently been listed as "questionable" on the injury report lately, but has never been in any real doubt of playing. He gets a boost in this one as Julian Edelman (concussion) is out and the Jets are best attacked through the air.
The Texans still haven't announced Case Keenum as their Week 16 starter.
Per multiple reports, Keenum is fully expected to get the nod over Thad Lewis. But Bill O'Brien comes from Bill Belichick's school of secrecy, so the team isn't announcing it.
Ravens declared ILB Arthur Brown, WR Michael Campanaro, CB Chris Greenwood, DT Terrence Cody, OL Gino Gradkowski, OL Ryan Jensen, and DT Casey Walker inactive for Week 16 against the Texans.
They're all healthy scratches. Brown, the 56th pick in last year's draft, hasn't been able to find the field all season behind Daryl Smith and C.J. Mosley. Brown may be a trade candidate in the offseason. He has talent.
Browns declared RB Glenn Winston, CB Joe Haden, CB K'Waun Williams, TE Gary Barnidge, OL Vinston Painter, OL Andrew McDonald, and WR Rodney Smith inactive for Week 16 against the Panthers.
Without Williams and Haden, the Browns are highly vulnerable at cornerback. Haden is one of the top cover men in the league and Williams has been an undrafted rookie gem at slot corner.
