Marlins sent RHP Asher Wojciechowski outright to Triple-A New Orleans.

Wojciechowski was designated for assignment by Miami earlier this month and passed through waivers without drawing a claim from another team. The 27-year-old right-hander has a brutal 6.02 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 46 1/3 innings this season in the minor leagues.

Braves sent INF Ronnier Mustelier outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Mustelier served as the 26th man for the Braves in a doubleheader earlier this month, but he did not receive a plate appearance. The 31-year-old from Santiago de Cuba is batting .300/.362/.399 over 357 plate appearances this season in the minor leagues.

Trea Turner is making his second straight start in center field Wednesday versus the Indians.

He will also bat leadoff for the Nationals against Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco. Turner made his first career start in center field on Tuesday night and had some issues, but it's the best spot for him at the moment under the Nats' current roster construction. He should be athletic enough to make it work.

Rangers released OF Justin Ruggiano.

Ruggiano was batting .226/.321/.427 with seven home runs over 190 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Round Rock. The 34-year-old outfielder will probably latch on with another organization soon.

Nationals manager Dusty Baker suggested late Tuesday that he's considering a change at closer.

Papelbon blew his second straight save opportunity on Tuesday night against the Indians, yielding three runs on two walks and two hits. He did not record an out. "It’s too soon after," Baker said in his postgame press conference. "I mean, that’s his job. That’s what he’s getting paid for. I don’t know. We just have to go back to the drawing board. It’s too early to say after the game." Washington was heavily interested in Aroldis Chapman before he went to the Cubs. Maybe there's a plan now that involves Andrew Miller. If no outside upgrade is made and Papelbon's struggles continue, Shawn Kelley could become the guy.

Adam Liberatore was unavailable Tuesday because of a sore right knee.

Liberatore tweaked his knee while covering first base Sunday in St. Louis. "It's not serious," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Tuesday's win over the Rays. "There was a little bit of swelling. It wasn't great. It was one of those you don't want to keep pushing it." Liberatore, 29, has an impressive 1.35 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 39/12 K/BB ratio in 33 1/3 innings this season out of the Los Angeles bullpen.

Logan Morrison (wrist) grounded out as a pinch-hitter on Tuesday night against the Dodgers.

It was his first plate appearance in eight days. LoMo has been battling tendinitis in his wrist and forearm but could very well return to the starting lineup Wednesday. He's slashing .231/.308/.376 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI in 86 games this season for Tampa Bay.

Brandon Crawford went 3-for-5 with a two-run triple and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Reds.

Crawford raced around the bases for a two-run triple in the seventh inning. The three-bagger was his fifth of the season. He also hit a pair of singles in the contest. For the season, the 29-year-old shortstop is slashing .275/.344/.433 with nine homers and 63 RBI over 342 at-bats. He has been an integral cog in the Giants machine this season.
