Nate Jones (elbow) appeared in a simulated game Monday.

Jones has been on the shelf for nearly three weeks with right elbow neuritis. It's not clear whether he'll require a rehab assignment before being activated, but it doesn't look like the veteran reliever is far off from a return.

A.J. Pollock (groin) has begun doing some light jogging.

Pollock is making some nice progress, but he obviously won't be ready for activation from the disabled list when first eligible on Thursday. The outfielder is working his way back from a Grade 1 right groin strain.

Randall Delgado will start Wednesday versus the White Sox.

He's filling in for Taijuan Walker (blister). All 15 of Delgado's appearances this season have come out of the bullpen, but he's thrown three innings of four occasions, including in his previous outing last Friday. It's unclear whether the D'Backs will need him for more than one start.
May 22 - 7:05 PM

Carlos Rodon (biceps) threw another simulated game at extended spring training Monday.

Rodon threw 60 pitches in 15-pitch intervals, getting up and down four times. It's his fourth since he began ramping up his throwing program after going down with bursitis in his left biceps. Rodon admitted Monday that the rehab process has been "frustrating" for him, but it does appear he's making real progress. As far as what that might mean for a potential rehab assignment, it's not clear at this point.
May 22 - 7:00 PM

Jake Petricka (lat) threw live batting practice at extended spring training Monday.

It's the first time he's faced hitters since he went down with a strained lat in his first appearance of the season. Petricka is starting a throwing program over from scratch, so it will be a while.

Orioles activated RHP Gabriel Ynoa from the 10-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk.

Ynoa is over the hamstring issue that sent him to the DL earlier this month, but he'll try to work his way back up through the minors. The righty has posted a 6.65 ERA at Norfolk this season but threw six shutout innings in a spot start with the O's.
May 22 - 6:44 PM

Cubs designated RHP Jake Buchanan for assignment.

The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Zac Rosscup. Buchanan, 27, holds an unimpressive 4.75 ERA and 29/19 K/BB ratio over 41 2/3 innings at Triple-A Iowa this season.
May 22 - 6:34 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that he anticipates Hunter Pence (hamstring) being another week away from returning.

Pence did sprints in the outfield and went through agility drills Monday, saying afterward that he's "got to run a little better, but I'm close, very close." The veteran outfielder will go through the same routine Tuesday. It's unclear whether he'll require a rehab assignment before being activated.
