Ronald Acuna went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and two RBI in leading the Braves to a 7-4 defeat of the Reds on Thursday.

Acuna hit a long homer off Homer Bailey in his first at-bat today and sixth at-bat as a major leaguer, and he broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI double off Wandy Peralta in the eighth. He appears to have decent potential at the plate.

Arodys Vizcaino notched his second save by throwing a scoreless ninth Thursday against the Reds.

A.J. Minter got the nod Wednesday, but Vizcaino remains the Braves' closer. He's allowed just two runs over 11 2/3 innings this season, but he can't do much about Atlanta's struggles to generate save opportunities.

Homer Bailey surrendered four runs in five innings Thursday versus the Braves.

Bailey struck out just one today, and he's topped four strikeouts in only one of his six starts this year. He's looked a little better than anticipated overall, but he still seems like a shaky bet going forward.

Ozzie Albies homered, doubled and knocked in three runs against the Reds on Thursday.

Albies has eight homers and 10 doubles in 104 at-bats this year after finishing with six homers and nine doubles in 217 at-bats as a rookie. He leads the NL with 66 total bases, which is simply incredible for a 21-year-old second baseman.

Devin Mesoraco returned to the starting lineup Thursday and went 1-for-4 against the Braves.

Mesoraco was scratched from Tuesday's lineup because of neck stiffness. He's 6-for-30 with a homer while playing behind Tucker Barnhart.

Joey Votto homered in a third straight game Thursday against the Braves.

He had a solo homer Tuesday, a two-run homer Wednesday and now a three-run homer today. Let's hope it's a pattern.
Apr 26 - 3:47 PM

Corey Dickerson homered off Alex Wilson in the bottom of the ninth to give the Pirates a 1-0 win over the Rays on Thursday.

Dickerson had been in a little slump of late, going eight straight games without an RBI before providing the only run in this one. It was his second homer of the year, and it pushed his OPS back up to .848.
Apr 26 - 3:39 PM

Ivan Nova scattered six hits over eight innings in the Pirates' 1-0 win over the Tigers on Thursday.

That lone run came in the bottom of the ninth, so Nova didn't get the win. Still, he did lower his ERA to 3.32. He's had an easy schedule thus far, having faced the Tigers twice and the Marlins once. The Tigers didn't even have Victor Martinez or Jeimer Candelario in the lineup for this one. Nova will get the Nationals next time out.
