Anthony Gose went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a double, and two runs scored in Thursday’s 7-3 win over the Athletics.

His fourth-inning blast off Chris Bassitt was his second home run of the season. This was his first multi-hit game since April 13. The speedy 25-year-old is batting just .193/.258/.316 through 18 games and has yet to steal a base. His playing time will likely be in some jeopardy once Cameron Maybin is finally healthy enough to make his season debut.

Francisco Rodriguez notched a one-out save Thursday against the Athletics.

The Tigers were up by five runs to begin the ninth inning, but Blaine Hardy ran into trouble by giving up three hits, including an RBI single. K-Rod entered with two on and two out and got Stephen Vogt to fly out to lock down the victory. The 34-year-old has converted each of his last five save chances since his disastrous season debut, though questions remain about his ability to remain a valuable closer as his velocity continues to decline.
Apr 28 - 8:19 PM

Anibal Sanchez was wild in a win over the Athletics on Thursday, allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings despite walking seven batters.

The seven walks were the most allowed by Sanchez since September 28, 2009. He also gave up three hits, so he was on the edge of disaster at times, but he minimized the damage by striking out nine batters. The 32-year-old has been really shaky in the early going, posting a 6.08 ERA through five starts. While the strikeouts were nice to see, an outing like this one doesn’t really inspire confidence for fantasy owners.

Billy Burns went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and two stolen bases Thursday against the Tigers.

After drawing a walk in the third inning, Burns stole second and third base before eventually being brought home on a single by Josh Reddick. The speedster lost some playing time to Coco Crisp in the early part of the season, but he has been in the lineup pretty regularly of late. Burns has shown an elite contact rate so far, striking out just five times in 18 games, but it has led to a modest .268/.316/.366 batting line and just one RBI. On the bright side, he has six steals.

MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports that Alex Rios received offers, but has been seeking a "significant role" with a team.

The Royals declined their part of Rios' $12.5 million club option for 2016 after he batted just .255 with four home runs and a .640 OPS over 105 games last season. Not surprisingly, the 35-year-old didn't receive much interest for a prominent role over the winter. At this point, retirement could be the next step.

Kris Bryant will undergo a precautionary MRI on his right ankle.

Bryant suffered a mild sprain of his right ankle while running the bases in the third inning on Thursday. The Cubs appear confident that it's nothing serious, but there should be more clarity on his status soon.
Apr 28 - 6:24 PM

Justin Turner is not in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday against the Marlins.

He'll get a breather with Marlins ace Jose Fernandez on the hill. Howie Kendrick will start at third base while Carl Crawford plays left field.
Apr 28 - 5:51 PM

Angels placed RHP Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 24, with a left oblique strain.

Street felt some discomfort while making warmup throws on Wednesday and will require an extended absence. The Angels will make a corresponding roster move on Friday. Joe Smith is expected to fill in at closer and should be picked up in all fantasy leagues.
