White Sox placed OF J.B. Shuck on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
The 28-year-old outfielder has done a nice job in a bench role for the White Sox, slashing .278/.339/.361 with 11 RBI in 97 at-bats. He should be ready to rejoin the club in mid-August.
Orioles recalled RHP Jorge Rondon from Triple-A Norfolk.
The 27-year-old hurler was claimed off waivers from the Rockies in early May and has posted a 2.01 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 35/10 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings at Triple-A Norfolk. He'll work in middle relief for the Orioles.
Orioles placed RHP Mike Wright on the 15-day disabled list with a right calf strain.
Wright sustained the injury in Friday's game against the Tigers. He should be ready to return to the O's bullpen in mid-August. Jorge Rondon was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move.
Padres designated C Tim Federowicz for assignment.
His 20-day stint on the minor league disabled list was up, and the team was forced to make a decision. He could attract interest on waivers from team's searching for depth behind the plate.
Keyvius Sampson will start for the Reds on Sunday against the Pirates.
It will be the first major league start for the 24-year-old who is auditioning for one of the open spots in the Reds rotation created from the Johnny Cueto and Mike Leake trades. He posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 74/46 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season.
C.J. Wilson will undergo surgery to repair a left elbow impingement and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2015 season.
Wilson alerted the Angels to the news prior to the trade deadline. He has been pitching with bone spurs in his elbow since April, but his range of motion has diminished recently which necessitated the surgery. He should be fully healthy and ready to go for the start of the 2015 season.
Marlins recalled LHP Chris Reed from Triple-A New Orleans.
While the southpaw has struggled in the minor leagues this season, he has good stuff and could excel as a situational left-hander. He will work in middle relief.

The southpaw is a candidate to start on Tuesday in the rotation spot vacated by Dan Haren. He has made one start for the Fish this season, earning a victory in a spot start against the Reds.
