ESPN Raiders reporter Bill Williamson says Trent Richardson is on the roster bubble.

Despite getting $600,000 guaranteed in the two-year deal he signed in March, Richardson appears to be in real danger of losing his job to undrafted rookie Michael Dyer. Richardson has just 23 yards on 10 preseason carries.

Michael Vick is expected to play in the Steelers' fourth preseason game Saturday.

Signed this week to back up Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers need to get Vick reps in the offense. He could play most of the second half.

The Newark Star-Ledger's Eliot Shorr-Parks said OLB Marcus Smith (hamstring) is on the roster bubble.

When asked if Smith would be on the final roster, Shorr-Parks put his chances at 51 percent. Smith was working as the primary backup at outside linebacker before injuring his hamstring, but coach Chip Kelly was noncommittal on Smith's roster status following the injury. Kelly has already said he had little to do with drafting Smith in the first round last year, and the coach has a history of cutting ties with big-name players. The Eagles' lack of depth at outside linebacker should allow Smith to make the roster, but he needs to make an impact this season.

Texans LT Duane Brown does not need surgery on his injured finger.

it is still unclear how or when Brown suffered the injury, but he has a cast on his right hand. Brown should be held out for the rest of the preseason, but he is expected to be ready Week 1.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley did not rule out DT Sen'Derrick Marks (ACL) for Week 1.

Though Bradley refuses to rule him out, The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran reports Week 3 is more likely. Marks will be nine months removed from ACL surgery when the regular season opens.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said "everything points to" Julius Thomas (hand) playing Week 1.

The Jags have always been confident Thomas will be ready Week 1, but it is good to hear he has not suffered any setbacks. SS Johnathan Cyprien (hand) is also expected back by the opener.

Jaguars DE Andre Branch has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran reports he will miss "significant time." Branch was expected to rotate with Chris Clemons at the LEO position. The Jaguars primarily want to use Clemons in passing situations, meaning Chris Smith could get snaps on run downs.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure said RB Devonta Freeman (hamstring) is unlikely to play in the third preseason game Saturday.

Freeman returned to practice last week, so it is a bit concerning he is not healthy enough to play. Rookie Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is expected to play. He could put distance between himself and Freeman in the running back competition with a strong showing.
