Taylor Teagarden (thumb) is scheduled to play in a game Monday in Sarasota, Florida.

It will presumably be an extended spring training game. The Orioles will likely send him out on a brief rehab assignment from there, but he appears on track to return from the disabled list early next month. The 29-year-old backstop has been sidelined since April 27 with a dislocated left thumb.

Chris Narveson (finger) will be stretched out as a starter when he begins a rehab assignment next week.

The Brewers were using Narveson in relief before he suffered a sprained middle finger in early April, but injuries could provide him with an opportunity in the starting rotation. It's not clear how many starts he'll make in the minors before being activated.

Alfredo Figaro is expected to start next Tuesday against the Twins.

He'll make the start in place of Hiram Burgos, who was placed on the disabled list Friday with a right shoulder impingement. Things could change if Figaro is needed out of the bullpen this weekend.

Rickie Weeks is not in Friday's lineup against the Pirates.

Another day off for the struggling second baseman. Jeff Bianchi is drawing another start.

Gordon Beckham isn't playing Friday with Triple-A Charlotte due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand.

Beckham had surgery in mid-April to remove the hamate bone from his hand, so the White Sox don't want to take any chances. He's expected to be held out of action until next Wednesday at the earliest.

Mariners designated INF Robert Andino for assignment.

Andino gets the boot after batting just .184 (14-for-76) with a 27/7 K/BB ratio in 29 games. Carlos Triunfel has been promoted from Triple-A Tacoma to replace him on the active roster, but the move could set the wheels in motion for Brad Miller to eventually make his way to the majors.
May 24 - 5:36 PM

Mariners recalled INF Carlos Triunfel from Triple-A Tacoma.

He'll replace Robert Andino, who has been designated for assignment. Triunfel, 23, was batting .300/.351/.476 with four home runs, 19 RBI, four stolen bases, and an .828 OPS over 44 games this season in Triple-A. He's not worth considering in most fantasy leagues.
May 24 - 5:30 PM

Kevin Youkilis (back) will play in an extended spring training game Saturday.

Mark Teixeira is also slated to play as he works his way back from a wrist injury. Youkilis has been sidelined for nearly a month with a lumbar spine strain, but he could rejoin the Yankees late next week if he can avoid setbacks.
