Pat Neshek (shoulder, forearm) will continue his minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Reading.

Neshek is coming off a scoreless rehab appearance with High-A Clearwater on Saturday, so he's ready to make the next step. He's been out all year with shoulder and forearm injuries, so the Phillies probably want him to make at least another couple of appearances before being activated. Neshek returned to the Phillies with a two-year, $16.25 million deal over the winter.

Daniel Murphy is absent from the Nationals' lineup Monday.

The Nats have been easing Murphy back into things and he will sit out in this one even with the designated hitter spot available in Tampa. Murphy is hitting just .195/.233/.220 through his first 12 games and still hasn't made a start at second base.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Clay Buchholz on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.

Buchholz suffered the injury during Sunday's start against the Pirates. These injuries can be tricky, so he could require more than a minimum stay on the disabled list.

Nationals optioned RHP Jefry Rodriguez to Double-A Harrisburg.

Rodriguez made a couple unsuccessful spot starts for the Nats, surrendering nine runs over nine innings. He's no longer needed with Jeremy Hellickson (hamstring) due back later this week.
Jun 25 - 4:07 PM

Nationals activated RHP Brandon Kintzler from the 10-day disabled list.

Kintzler missed the last couple weeks of action with a flexor strain. He will return to a setup role.

Diamondbacks activated RHP Shelby Miller from the 60-day disabled list.

Miller required Tommy John surgery last May, but he'll make his return Monday against the Marlins. The 27-year-old posted a 4.66 ERA and 28/6 K/BB ratio in 19 1/3 innings over four minor league rehab starts. He's shown flashes over the years, but he's more of a wait and see option in mixed fantasy leagues for the time being.

Phillies recalled RHP Hector Neris from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Neris was just demoted a week ago, but he's back with Edubray Ramos (shoulder) going on the disabled list. During his brief time in Triple-A, Neris made two scoreless appearances while striking out two batters and walking one over two innings. He returns to a 6.00 ERA over 30 appearances in the majors this season.
Jun 25 - 4:02 PM

Phillies placed RHP Edubray Ramos on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder impingement.

No word yet on a timetable for his return. Ramos gave up two runs on two hits over two-thirds of an inning during Sunday's loss to the Nationals. Hector Neris is back up from the minors to replace him in Philadelphia's bullpen.
