Bills DE Alex Carrington is done for the season after tearing his quad Week 12 against the Chiefs.
Carrington was forced into a starting role with Mario Williams out with a foot injury, but he played just 32 snaps before tearing his quad. An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Carrington will try to latch on somewhere as a versatile backup.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ben Roethlisberger may not have suffered a concussion Week 12 against the Seahawks.
Bleacher Report's Jason Cole has a similar report Sunday night, suggesting Roethlisberger would be cleared through the concussion protocol early this week. Ben self-reported his symptoms late in the loss, but those symptoms reportedly "subsided quickly." It looks like Roethlisberger will play this week.
Colts placed RB Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending injured reserve with a wrist injury.
RB Zurlon Tipton was added to the roster in a corresponding move. Bradshaw was playing well the last several weeks, but the veteran will finish the season on injured reserve for the third-straight year. With Frank Gore falling apart down the stretch, recently re-claimed RB Dan Herron should play a role the rest of the season.
Matt Hasselbeck was 11-of-17 for 191 yards and a touchdown on play action Week 12 against the Bucs.
More than 60 percent of his passing yards came via the play fake, and he is now 25-of-33 for 346 yards and three touchdowns on play action this season. With the running game coming apart at the seams, it is unclear how much longer Hasselbeck can continue to be effective using the run fake, but for now the Colts have found an effective way to move the football with their 40-year-old quarterback.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Rob Gronkowski (knee) is "unlikely to miss more than one game" and "may not even miss that."
Reports on Gronk injury have mostly been positive, but this news is better than anyone could have hoped after the tight end was carted off the field Sunday night. It sounds like Gronkowski got good news from his MRI Monday morning, but the full results are not yet know. His status will continue to be updated throughout the week.
Ravens placed TE Chase Ford on season-ending injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Baltimore also waived WR Chuck Jacobs and signed OL Kaleb Johnson and WR Daniel Brown in corresponding moves. Ford opened the season with the Vikings, but was waived in early November. He did not play a snap for either team this year but contributed 23 catches for 258 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings last season.
Panthers signed CB Cortland Finnegan.
Finnegan "retired" in March, but he has been taking workouts all season. The Panthers need depth with Charles Tillman out indefinitely because of a sprained knee, but Carolina should hope Finnegan is not forced into important snaps. The former All-Pro was a disaster two years ago with the Rams and struggled last season with the Dolphins as well. DC Sean McDermott said Finnegan will start out defending the slot.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports USC "touched base" with Chip Kelly before deciding to remove the interim tag from coach Clay Helton.
Helton becoming the permanent head coach should end the Kelly to USC rumors, but there are plenty of other jobs for Kelly to be linked. Rapoport himself said the Titans and Marcus Mariota could be an option if Kelly becomes available. There will be a bevy of high-profile college jobs open this offseason as well.
