Danny Duffy pitched five innings of two-run ball in Sunday's win over the A's.

While Duffy allowed just four hits and struck out five, he also handed out five free passes. The two runs came courtesy of Ben Zobrist, who hit him up with an RBI single in the third and an RBI single in the fifth. Duffy's 1.112 WHIP last season would seem to indicate that the walks will come down eventually, though it should be noted that prior to 2014, he had never put up a WHIP lower than 1.35. We don't see him as mixed-league dependable at the moment, but he's a pitcher who could trend in a positive direction over the course of the season. He'll toe the mound against the White Sox next.

Scott Kazmir pitched another great game on Sunday, flustering the Royals with five strikeouts and holding them to two runs over 7 1/3 innings in the A's eventual loss.

In a game that saw four ejections, Scott Kazmir rose above the fire with another great outing. The two runs marked the most he's allowed in any of his three starts. For the season, he's given up just three runs on 10 hits over 20 1/3 innings, good for a 1.33 ERA. He's also fanned 23 and walked just six. The 30-year-old lefty will put these numbers up against the hapless Houston Astros (.202 team batting average) in his next start.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that Carlos Rodon will be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

Rodon will pitch out of the bullpen initially, but it's only a matter of time before he replaces Hector Noesi in the team's rotation. If he's unowned in any mixed leagues, now is the time to scurry to the waiver wire and secure the studly young left-hander.

Justin Verlander won't resume throwing until the pain in his triceps subsides.

While there are currently no plans for the right-hander to undergo an MRI, you'd have to believe it's on the horizon. At this point, it appears that he's in for an extended absence and shouldn't be counted on to help fantasy owners anytime soon.

Mike Bolsinger has gotten off to a tremendous start, winning each of his first two games for Triple-A Oklahoma City without allowing a run.

Bolsinger has surrendered just three hits in 11 innings of work. He's compiled an impressive 17 strikeouts during that span. The 27-year-old has gone just 1-6 across ten big league appearances, but if Bolsinger keeps this up, he's bound to get another shot.

Kris Bryant recorded a double in Sunday's contest against the Padres.

He hit the double off of Padres starter Andrew Cashner in the fifth inning and went on to finish the game 1-for-3 with a strikeout. In addition to the extra-base knock, he also reached base on a HBP. Bryant wrapped up his first major league series 3-for-10 with an RBI and three walks. This is just the start of what should be a great career, though owners should hang in there when Bryant sees inevitable struggles.

Indians top prospect Francisco Lindor blasted his first homer Saturday for Triple-A Columbus.

It was a solo shot to left field. Lindor hasn't shown us much with the bat, hitting only .212 in his first 33 at-bats. Power is never going to be his strong suit but if Lindor can get that average up, he should get called up to the big leagues.

Joaquin Benoit locked down his first save of the season in Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Benoit struck out two in picking up the save, though the Cubs attempted to make it interesting in the weakest way possible. With two outs, Chris Denorfia hit an infield single. Dexter Fowler followed this up with a bunt single to bring the tying run the plate. Benoit slammed the door on the mini rally when he struck out Jorge Soler to end the game. The aged veteran has allowed just one run in his first eight innings on the mound. He won't see many save opportunities with Craig Kimbrel locked in as closer, but in formats that honor holds, Benoit has value.
