Michael Fulmer will start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Fulmer and Tyler Danish had been scheduled to work in the nightcap, but they'll apparently pitch the first game instead while Buck Farmer and Derek Holland take the night game.

Miguel Sano is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's showdown against Jake Odorizzi and the Rays.

Sano is in a bit of a funk at the plate, as he's 0-for-13 with 10 strikeouts in his last three games, so skipper Paul Molitor is giving him a day off to clear his head. Ehire Adrianza is starting at shortstop for the Twins while Eduardo Escobar slides over to cover the hot corner.

Twins designated LHP Adam Wilk for assignment.

Wilk was claimed off of waivers from the Mets earlier in the month. He registered a 3.86 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 4/5 K/BB ratio over seven innings with the Twins. There's a chance that he could once again attract interest on waivers.
May 27 - 10:47 AM

Twins recalled LHP Adalberto Mejia from Triple-A Rochester.

Mejia will start for the Twins against the Rays on Saturday afternoon. He did well in a spot start on Sunday, limiting the Royals to three runs on five hits over seven innings in a victory.
May 27 - 10:45 AM

Red Sox optioned RHP Ben Taylor to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Taylor was the odd-man out with an extra arm needed to start against the Mariners on Saturday. The 24-year-old owns a 6.59 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and 14/9 K/BB ratio through 13 2/3 innings with the Red Sox this season.
May 27 - 10:44 AM

Red Sox recalled LHP Brian Johnson from Triple-A Pawtucket.

He's making a spot start for the Red Sox on Saturday against the Mariners. He struggled in a similar spot against the Blue Jays last month, allowing four runs on seven hits over five innings. He isn't a recommended streaming option.

Russell Martin is starting at third base on Saturday against Yu Darvish and the Rangers.

As manager John Gibbons had indicated, both Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki are out of the lineup after returning on Friday. Martin's versatility allows him to play the infield and keep his bat in the lineup while not behind the plate. He's batting sixth on Saturday.
May 27 - 10:39 AM

Jonathan Lucroy is not in the Rangers starting lineup on Saturday.

It's just a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Robinson Chirinos is starting in his place and batting cleanup.
