Jacob deGrom struck out 10 and allowed one run over 8 1/3 innings in Friday’s victory over the Pirates.

It was the longest outing by a Mets starter this season. And boy, did they need it. DeGrom allowed just six hits and one walk, with the lone run scoring on a solo homer from Gregory Polanco in the fourth inning. Terry Collins gave him the chance to go the distance initially, but deGrom gave up a leadoff single to Polanco and struck out David Freese looking before being pulled at 118 pitches. DeGrom improved to 4-1 with the victory and now owns a 3.23 ERA and 86/24 K/BB ratio in 64 innings through 10 starts.

Chad Kuhl was knocked around for five runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Mets on Friday.

Kuhl gave up eight hits, including a pair of homers to Neil Walker. The 24-year-old tossed five scoreless innings last time out against the Phillies, but he just hasn’t been able to show much in the way of consistency. He owns a ghastly 6.29 ERA through 10 starts.

Neil Walker teed off on his old team on Friday, going 3-for-5 with two homers, four RBI, and three runs scored in an 8-1 victory over the Pirates.

Walker clubbed a two-run homer in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth, giving him his fifth career mulit-homer game. He later added an RBI single in the sixth for good measure. The 31-year-old had a very quiet April, but he’s batting .345 (30-for-87) with four home runs and 18 RBI this month.

Lucas Duda went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk, and a run scored Friday versus the Pirates.

Duda now has three multi-hit games in his last four. He walked three times in the one game where he didn’t have at least two hits, so he has been an on-base machine recently. The 31-year-old quietly owns a .926 OPS with five homers and 14 RBI through 26 games. He deserves more attention in mixed fantasy leagues.
May 26 - 10:13 PM

Asdrubal Cabrera went 1-for-5 with a double Friday versus the Pirates.

Cabrera grounded into a double play on Thursday against the Padres, but this was his first start since returning from the disabled list. The 31-year-old has dealt with bumps and bruises so far this season while batting .252/.331/.378 through 35 games. With Cabrera back in the lineup on Friday, Jose Reyes moved back over to third base.
May 26 - 10:13 PM

In his first game action since returning from the disabled list, Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Mets.

Polanco, fresh off missing 10 days with a strained left hamstring, homered in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth. After going without a home run through his first 30 games this season, the 25-year-old has gone deep twice in his last five games. He’s batting .260/.341/.398 overall.
May 26 - 10:12 PM

Scott Schebler launched his 14th home run of the season on Friday, helping to lead the Reds to a 5-2 victory over the Phillies.

Schebler has been an unexpected source of power for the Reds and fantasy owners alike this season. His solo shot off of Aaron Nola in the third inning increased the Reds' early lead to 3-0. It was his lone hit in four at-bats on the night. Schebler is now hitting .247/.320/.549 to go along with the aforementioned 14 homers and 28 RBI.
May 26 - 10:11 PM

Adam Duvall homered for the second consecutive game as the Reds dispatched of the Phillies in Philadelphia on Friday night.

Duvall had gone 15 games without a long ball prior to Thursday's game and wasted no time hitting another one. He finished the evening 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and is now slashing .264/.309/.517 with 11 homers and 38 RBI.
