Angel Pagan launched a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Mets.

His seventh-inning blast off Jerry Blevins was the only offense of the game for the Giants. Pagan finished with a career-low .635 OPS last season while playing through a nagging knee injury, but he’s batting .321/.370/.476 through his first 24 games this season as the Giants’ primary No. 9 hitter.
Apr 29 - 10:33 PM

Nolan Reimold blasted a three-run home run in the seventh inning on Friday, propelling the Orioles to a 6-3 victory over the visiting White Sox.

The White Sox had just pulled even at 3-3 in the top half of the inning before Reimold put the game out of reach with one mighty blow against Carlos Rodon. He also singled in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and is hitting an impressive .355/.394/.742 with three homers and five RBI through his first 33 plate appearances.
Apr 29 - 10:32 PM

Zach Britton worked a scoreless ninth inning against the White Sox on Friday to secure his sixth save of the season.

Britton retired all three hitters that he faced in order, one of them via the strikeout, to protect a three-run advantage. He now boasts a 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 11/2 K/BB ratio through 9 1/3 innings while making good on all six of his save opportunities.
Apr 29 - 10:28 PM

Mike Wright pitched well in a no-decision against the White Sox on Friday, racking up six strikeouts over six innings of two-run ball.

The right-hander scattered five hits and a pair of walks in the contest. He departed with a 3-2 lead, but his bullpen was unable to protect his victory. He'll look to further improve upon his 5.40 ERA and 1.29 WHIP when he does battle against the Yankees at home on Wednesday.
Apr 29 - 10:26 PM

Brett Lawrie went deep for the second time this season as the White Sox lost to the Orioles on Friday.

His solo shot off Brad Brach in the seventh inning briefly pulled the White Sox even at 3-3, but wound up being the extent of their scoring. Lawrie finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .264/.340/.414 with two bombs and eight RBI on the season.
Apr 29 - 10:23 PM

Carlos Rodon was dealt his third loss of the season on Friday, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits over seven innings against the Orioles.

On the plus side, Rodon did manage to rack up seven strikeouts on the night while walking only one. He held the O's to only one earned run until the seventh inning, where a three-run homer by Nolan Reimold broke the game open. He'll head into Wednesday's start against the Red Sox with a 4.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and a 27/11 K/BB ratio across 27 innings.
Apr 29 - 10:18 PM

David Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a go-ahead two-run homer in a 4-2 win over the Yankees on Friday night.

Ortiz took a first-pitch curveball from Dellin Betances and launched it over the Green Monster to give Boston the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. The veteran slugger was 0-for-7 with four strikeouts against Betances before the go-ahead blast. Ortiz is now up to 507 home runs for his career and is batting .297/.395/.568 with three home runs and 16 RBI through 21 games in his farewell season.
Apr 29 - 10:15 PM

Craig Kimbrel threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning against the Yankees on Friday for his seventh save of the season.

Kimbrel needed just 11 pitches to get through the frame and notched one strikeout along the way. The 27-year-old has had a pair of rough outings in the early going, so he still has a 4.09 ERA, but he has struck out 19 batters in 11 innings of work.
